Working in Citi was only bearable because of the kind, fun, and understanding colleagues but apart from that aspect, everything else is challenging. The good thingsPeople are mostly nice. There is equal opportunity for everyone. There are monthly one on ones with your manager to check up on performance and career goals.
The challengesWork is toxic and work-life balance is poor. Personal and family time (hours outside shift, holidays, and weekends) is sacrificed a lot. Management turnaround is slow whenever we ask for help in terms of addressing workload, headcount, and whatnot. Low headcount with high workload = less chances to take leaves and unused leaves are not convertible to cash and will only be forfeited. Personal leaves can only be used for emergencies and not for actual personal commitments. Parents can't be added as dependents to HMO.
