Working for Citibank was an amazing learning experience. Since I left Citibank, it has been my benchmark for best practices; not just within the banking industry but for other industries I have had the privilege of working in.
The good thingsThere is no "office politics" or palakasan in Citibank. As soon as you start working for the company, you are given KPIs where your rating as probationary employee will be based. For regular employees, KPIs for the following year are given in December. It's either you hit your targets, miss them, or exceed expectations. Employees actually work together and help each other out. Our individual year end goals are interconnected and we understood that fact. Generally, the people managers in Citibank have good (and friendly) relationships with their team members. This company helped me enrich skills that I already have, acquire new skills and gave me opportunities to widen my perspective about the banking and financial services industry. They empower their employees to grow professionally.
The challengesI felt that, given my work load, I should have been paid more.

The challengesEverytime you will be sent for deployment outside of the office such as field work, malls, events, corps.

    For good branding and experience
The good thingsCitibank is a well-known bank worldwide. Thus, working here will give you a \"brand\". The commission they give has no ceiling. The experience working here will make you ready for the challenges you will encounter once you change company.
The challengesNo work-life balance. They can send you anywhere in the Philippines at any time and any day. You have to meet a certain number of quota before they can allow you to rest on weekends. A sales job here is not for married people.

    Life in Citi
The good thingsThe things that I enjoyed in Citi is the people that I have worked with. Even though we are an International Bank and we deal with a lot of bosses every time. I never felt that I was different. We are all equal no matter what your rank is. There is an open door policy which means that you can talk to your superiors anytime. That's one thing that local banks doesn't have.
The challengesOne of the challenges was being unable to adapt to change which I should be since I agreed to that since day 1. Also, the lack of knowledge when it comes to the process by some of the supervisors but aside from that. I loved my stay at Citi as I learned a lot from the company.
