A Learning Experience at a Great Cost
The good thingsNew opportunity to learn through team collaboration Good teamwork within our department Systems were effectively created and implemented by the team Enjoyed a reasonable work-life balance within our department
The challengesLeadership lacks accountability – quick to point fingers, slow to reflect or improve No real appreciation for hard work, dedication, or contributions Toxic blame culture – staff are often scapegoated when goals set by poor leadership aren’t achieved Projects were halted or rejected due to decisions from the top, but staff were still blamed for “not taking initiative” Gaslighting, gossip, and rumor culture thrive unchecked Unprofessional behavior from some decision-makers undermines productivity and morale Despite the mounting workload, pay remained insufficient and demotivating Mental health took a major hit – the pressure, politics, and toxic culture made this environment unsustainable No real care for employees – you’re seen as disposable, not valuable Mass resignations across all levels – from support staff to mid-level and managerial roles. People are leaving because they’re exhausted, unheard, and disrespected

An enriching experience with a supportive team and ample opportunities for professional growth, balanced by occasional challenges in communication and workload management.
The good thingsThere’s a strong sense of community, where colleagues support each other, and the leadership fosters a culture of growth and development. I also appreciate the opportunity to work with talented individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the field of education.
The challengesOne challenge is the fast-paced nature of the work, which can sometimes make it difficult to balance multiple tasks and projects. There are times when communication across departments can be unclear, leading to delays or misunderstandings.

Working at AIM offers great benefits and networking opportunities, but challenges include management instability, limited career growth, and high workload.
The good thingsThe institute maintains a professional atmosphere, which can be very conducive to personal and professional growth.
The challengesManagement Instability, frequent changes in leadership that leads to inconsistencies in how internal systems are managed and updated.

Too much pressure. No work-life balance. People who are working under non-academic positions are undervalued.
The good thingsOpportunity to work with various people of different culture and background.
The challengesIt's difficult working with the institution's employees since most of the employees' age group are of those that belongs to the boomer generation hence, it's difficult to implement various innovations and ideas within the team due to lack of knowledge and refusal to accept changes. Also, employees who belong to this generation are quite very traditional to work with which makes the workplace a bit off to work in.

The workload is unreasonable, often keeping me working until 1 am due to constant demands from clients and professors, which disrupts my peace of mind. I face pressure from multiple bosses—clients, management, administration, and professors—and often end up handling tasks beyond my role. There's no formal training, so I've had to learn everything on my own, which affects efficiency. Management seems unaware of how increasing student numbers affect workload, leading to inefficiencies.
The good thingsI've encountered numerous individuals, particularly company owners whom I've managed, and they've significantly contributed to my personal growth.

    Work overload and toxic management
The good thingsReaching KPIs is an achievement.
The challengesVery poor management on handling their employees. Not surprised that money is more important than the welfare of employees. The irony of being a Business Management school is having managers that dont mind giving extreme workload.

    Lots of Growth Opportunity
The good thingsIf you're willing to learn and and extend yourself, there is so much opportunity to learn new skills but in terms of career advancement, there aren't a lot of positions beyond managerial.
The challengesHard workers tend to be bogged down by tenured employees who deliver the bare minimum.

    Low pay, lots of opportunities
The good thingsThe tasks are very challenging but you will learn a lot about yourself and how you can improve. You will meet a lot of key individuals from different industries if given a chance.
The challengesCompany politics. Low pay. Also being in the heart of Makati, travelling to work can be a challenge.

    Low salary, nice benefit package
The good thingsThe company is not that big, and staff seem to know each other well. Their medical package is nice, although single employees without children cannot avail this for their family members. Since it is an educational institution, it promotes and supports graduate studies and continued learning for staff.
The challengesThe processes are not compiled in a manual. Takes some time to get familiar with how process flow works. The building doesn't have elevators; everybody has to take the stairs.

    Employment at AIM
The good thingsAIM takes good care of their employees. They have good benefits for their people. There are a lot of activities for work-life balance: family days, summer outings, sports fests and after work activities. You can see camaraderie. AIM is also good at rewarding their deserving employees.
The challengesThe company is very hierarchical. This can be a very tedious process if you suddenly have to do something on the spot . As with most organization's the working environment could be better. There is rampant small talk and rumors among the staff.

    Work-life Balance and Minimal Stress
The good thingsIt's the Asian Institute of Management, it's a pretty good place to work at and in terms of work-life balance they really give you time off. They also have a lot of structure. In terms of being just doing a project for them, I felt really welcomed and I already had the equipment I needed and we were entrusted with the tasks as well as our deadlines. Environment is superb, and location is good!
The challengesI was there for a \"Thesis\" project of one of the main heads of the EXCELL department, which meant we were testing out processes. Which meant I had to work out and supervise myself as well as the work of the group, it had it's share of stress. And due to the inexperience, we were asked to work with really TIGHT deadlines! We were also pressured to go above and beyond work hours from time to time.
