What's it like to be a Doctor?
Doctors are medical professionals who maintain the health of patients, diagnose health problems and provide treatment to cure conditions. Doctors consult with patients to prescribe the best medicine or treatment for their health. They may specialize in disciplines such as internal medicine, gynecology, cardiology and psychiatry. They may also work as general practitioners in clinics and hospitals.Tasks and duties

How to become a Doctor
Earning a Doctor of Medicine requires many years of study and training. Aspiring Doctors must have excellent academic performance in their undergraduate studies, pass the National Medical Admission Test, graduate from medical school, pass the Physician Licensure exam and complete a two-year residency before being qualified to work.
- 1.Complete a bachelor degree in biology, life sciences, health sciences or a related pre-med field. Aspiring Doctors can choose a non-medical course, but they may need to take additional units in science or health-related subjects as a prerequisite for some medical schools.
- 2.Pass the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT) with a score of at least 75%.
- 3.Apply and get accepted into medical school which will award you a Doctor of Medicine upon completion. Medical school consists of three years of laboratory and lecture classes, while the fourth year includes a junior internship at different hospital departments.
- 4.Complete a two-year postgraduate internship in an area of specialty.
- 5.Pass the Physician Licensure Examination with a score of at least 75% and no score lower than 50% in any subject.
- 6.Undergo a medical residency at recognized hospitals or clinics.
- 7.Consider specializing in a subcategory of medicine, which will require undergoing a fellowship and passing the field’s qualification exam.
