One of the events moving into the digital space is the Government Online Career Fair 2020, a partnership between the Civil Service Commission and JobStreet Philippines. Unlike past events, the career fair will now be conducted online in the comfort and safety of home.

Working for the government is a unique challenge for many employees. Many aspire to hold a government job because of the different benefits it offers, but unlike applying for private companies, there are additional requirements one must know before applying. Here are some useful reminders for the Government Online Career Fair 2020:
Fill up the Personal Data Sheet completely.
The Personal Data Sheet is a must-complete document when applying to government jobs. Besides sharing your usual personal data and work experience, the Personal Data Sheet will ask for several information such as voluntary work experience in private or NGO, training programs attended, and applicable licenses.
After filling up the form, remember to download the Personal Data Sheet and upload it on your JobStreet profile as a resume.
If you're a first-time job seeker, you're entitled to the First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act.
The government is lending first-timers a hand when it comes to obtaining government documents needed to apply for a job. Under the Republic Act No. 1126 or First Time Jobseekers Assistance Act, fees are waived for issuance or certification of most government documents. Know the type of positions available in the government.
To set expectations, it's essential to be aware of the varying types of government positions before applying. Each agency has differences in terms of employment status, tenure, benefits, etc. While many roles are eventually hired as long-term, not all are permanent at the start of employment. For example, some roles may be for a contractual or consultancy position at first, and some may be for regular or plantilla.
Take note of the qualifications needed for each job vacancy.
Not all roles are created equal, and each position may require a different set of exams and qualifications to be eligible. Generally, aspiring job seekers usually needs to pass the Civil Service Exams to be eligible, but not all roles require it.
It is classified into two types, according to the kind of eligibility you can get:

Make sure to have the needed documents on hand.
To save time and effort, you should have all relevant IDs and certificates ready to fill up the Personal Data Sheet efficiently. Jobseekers will be asked for their PAG-IBIG, SSS, TIN, PhilHealth numbers. For eligibility, documents such as the Career Executive Service (CES)/ Board/Bar (RA 1080), or Driver's license will be asked, if applicable.
