Manila, 29 June 2015 "“ The 2015 Top Companies Report of JobStreet.com shows some changes from last year's list of companies most Filipinos dream of working for.
In an online survey conducted by JobStreet.com, Filipino-owned business giant San Miguel Corporation (SMC) topped the list of Most Aspired Companies in the country for the second year in a row.
However, only SMC and Nestlé Philippines held on to their top two spots as the rest of the Top 5 saw one company move up and one move down from their 2014 position, while one new company breaks through.
While food and beverage company Nestlé Philippines stayed in second place, this year's third most aspired company is global management consulting, technology services, and outsourcing firm Accenture, which went up two notches from its fifth position last year.
2015's fourth and fifth most aspired companies are energy giant Shell Philippines, which moved up from outside the top five last year, and fast-moving consumer goods household name Procter & Gamble, which slid from third in 2014 to fifth this year.
Two Henry Sy-led businesses joined this year's list, with conglomerate SM Investments Corporation debuting at sixth and the firm's banking arm, BDO Unibank, getting the eighth spot.
The country's largest media company, ABS-CBN Corporation placed seventh this year, while the Philippines' branch of the world's largest Coca-Cola bottling company, Coca-Cola FEMSA is ninth.
Another new entry, Unilever Philippines, rounded up the list that features three local companies and seven multinationals.

The good news for job seekers is that most, if not all of these companies are in search for top talent to join their ranks. Not convinced? See for yourself:
Don't be easily discouraged if you don't see a vacancy that's the right fit for your qualifications or if you don't see your dream company in the list. It's Not Just About the Money Anymore
While last year's accompanying survey revealed that salary was the foremost reason why candidates want to work in these companies, reasons have evolved this year for all position levels, from fresh graduates to managers.
In this year's survey, benefits and incentives such as performance-based bonuses, health insurance, retirement pay, and car and housing loans is the most popular consideration for most position levels "“ junior executives, supervisors, managers, and even top management "“ when selecting an organization to work for.
For fresh graduates, the company's ability to provide support and training/learning and development opportunities is their primary consideration in wanting to work for top companies, with benefits as the secondary reason, and salary only coming in at third.
A Unilever employee remembers, "œI was part of a management trainee program, which allowed me to get training from the most seasoned Unilever employees while interacting with my batchmates who just also joined the company. After two years, they have exposed me to operations in other Southeast Asian countries, and now I am back in the Philippines with more knowledge and expertise."
Aside from benefits, employees in the junior executive and supervisory level also look for generous salary and a strong support and training and development program from employers, which they think are being provided by these top companies.
For example, with trainings and certifications being shouldered by the company, employees in Accenture may not necessarily have training bonds, but feel they need to stay with the company because they know they can grow further with their skill sets.
It should also be noted that as employees go up the corporate ladder, other factors are given more consideration. While the triumvirate of benefits, salary, and training and development programs are the three most important reasons for a company's desirability for younger employees, managers also prefer companies that have a solid standing and reputation. An employee of BDO who has been with the bank for ten years is quick to reply that its solid reputation and generous bonus schemes keep her satisfied and loyal with the company.
For those in the highest position level such as directors, vice presidents, and CEO's, benefits, incentives and salary are nearly as important as the work environment and culture of the company.
An Insider's Look
As many employees admit that a clash of cultures and values made them leave their previous jobs, it is reinforcing to see employees of these top companies indeed find their culture match where they work.
An ABS-CBN manager who has been with the media company for fifteen years opines, "œMost of the company values are aligned with mine, like honesty and integrity, teamwork, and meritocracy." He continues by saying that a healthy work environment and camaraderie with colleagues do contribute to his loyalty to the company, "œIt's really the people. We really live up to the Kapamilya brand."
A Shell employee adds, "œWhat I love most about the company is the brand and the core principles it teaches its employees namely, honesty, integrity and respect for people."
An employee from the most aspired company, SMC, suggests that it has a lot to do with the quality of people in the organization, saying, "œMore than the higher pay and benefits, I love that I am working with people I respect. I really look up to them."
With more senior employees, the fact that they are employed by these household names is reward enough. A Coca-Cola FEMSA employee enthuses, "œCoca-Cola is one of the top companies in the country because of the brand itself. You don't need much explanation on what the company does and how it has been successful over the past decades."
4,200 JobStreet.com members participated in a series of surveys and interviews that ran from March to May 2015. The respondents were from different position levels (predominantly junior executives and supervisors) and represented a diverse mix of specializations.
