Are you burning out on the job? The thing about this matter is that you may not be aware that it is happening to you now, but you're in too deep with it that you don't know what is happening. So, step out of your dark place for a moment and look out for these signs:
In most cases, we start out in our jobs with a lot of idealism, vigor, and this passion to make a difference through our work. But then, there may be some reasons that have caused this to fade. And when you don't have motivation to work anymore, you will have to drudge yourself from waking up to getting yourself to work every single day.
For someone who really cares, a typical day in the office would equal to experiencing both highs and lows. But for someone burning out, there is a numbness that makes you not care about anything at all, whether you have experienced something great or even something devastating. You just feel numb and nothing about anything and everything.
You don't have the patience to deal with people or situations that were used to be a piece of cake. You don't think of issues as challenges or inspirations anymore, but roadblocks you can't wait to get over so you can carry on. Now, it seems every problem you encounter is out to get you. You don't see any of these as opportunities to grow or learn from.

Gone are the days when you've accomplished all your tasks for the day and you still have an hour before the office closes. These days, you are always behind schedule either because you don't feel like working or you spend most of the time being unproductive, complaining about your job. Even if you stay longer in the office after everyone has already left, you still can't get any work done.
Not only have you forgotten what laughter sounds like or a smile looks like on your face, but all those things that used to crack you up have now a way of irritating you. Worse, you get frazzled by people who are happy. It may be jealousy or just the thought the other people are having fun that gets into your nerves, but laughter and smiles will always be part of a healthy working environment, and you may seem to have forgotten that.
Trying to remedy a burnout is one of the most difficult things you will have to deal with. But then, you cannot reach that stage if you do not even recognize you are in this situation. By realizing that you have the tell-tale signs of a burnout, the next steps will come. It may still not be easy at all, but at least, you are taking the right steps to get yourself on the right track.
