Fullstack Java Developer [FULL ONSITE-ASAP]

About the role

Based in the Philippines and working 100% on-site, this role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, testing, deploying, and supporting secure, scalable, maintainable, and high-performing enterprise applications and digital solutions. The position combines full stack engineering, Microsoft Azure cloud expertise, technical leadership, and people development to deliver solutions aligned with business requirements, enterprise technology standards, security policies, and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain enterprise applications using Java-based technologies and frameworks.

• Develop responsive and user-friendly front-end components using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript or TypeScript, React, Vue.js, Angular, and modern responsive design practices.

• Build and maintain back-end services, REST APIs, microservices, event-driven solutions, and system integrations.

• Design, develop, optimise, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases, stored procedures, functions, views, and performance-tuning solutions.

• Design, develop, deploy, and support solutions hosted on Microsoft Azure, including Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, Azure Functions, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, Azure Monitor, AKS, APIM, Entra, Redis Cache, and Service Bus.

• Support cloud migration initiatives, application modernisation programmes, and integrations between on-premises and cloud-based applications.

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, release management, security scanning, and DevSecOps processes using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and related tools.

• Monitor application performance, availability, reliability, and security across Azure environments, including the use of application performance monitoring tools such as Dynatrace.

• Collaborate with business analysts, solution architects, project managers, infrastructure teams, security teams, quality assurance teams, business units, and Group Technology teams to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

• Participate in application architecture, technical design reviews, code reviews, software development lifecycle activities, and development best practices.

• Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing activities.

• Troubleshoot application, database, cloud, and integration issues and provide timely resolution.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment procedures, support guides, and technical communications.

• Ensure compliance with technology standards, security policies, SDLC standards, architecture governance, regulatory requirements, audit controls, risk management practices, and information security controls.

• Participate in security assessments, risk reviews, remediation activities, and operational governance processes.

• Provide technical support and knowledge transfer to support teams and other developers.

• Lead the hiring, mentoring, coaching, and development of senior and junior front-end and back-end engineers, helping build, grow, and sustain engineering capability.

• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to systems, processes, cloud solutions, and DevSecOps practices.

• Coordinate with vendors, consultants, implementation partners, and service providers when required.

• Deliver application enhancements and projects on schedule and within agreed quality standards while supporting performance, reliability, availability, defect reduction, and stakeholder satisfaction targets.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Five to ten years of experience in software development, including full stack application development.

• At least three years of experience developing enterprise solutions using Java technologies.

• Strong knowledge of Java programming and enterprise application development, with experience in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JPA, or equivalent frameworks.

• Experience developing front-end applications with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript or TypeScript, Angular, React, Vue.js, responsive design, and state management.

• Experience with Node.js, REST APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, web services, and system integration technologies.

• Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server database design, development, optimisation, and administration concepts.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure services and cloud-native application development, including application deployment and support in Azure environments.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, secure coding, SAST, DAST, and Agile development methodologies.

• Understanding of application security, authentication, authorisation, security scanning, and enterprise cloud governance.

• Knowledge of software design patterns, testing strategies, unit testing, integration testing, code review, and application performance monitoring.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, stakeholder management, technical communication, mentoring, and coaching skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and communicate technical information clearly.

• Relevant Microsoft Azure, Java, or cloud certifications are preferred.
