Senior Automation QA

1. Quality Process Mastery

a. Understand and comply with the defined and agreed Software Development Life Cycle and CMMI standards of the organization.

b. Understands various approaches used in testing such as System, Integration and Regression.

c. Develop and establish existing automation strategies and processes of the organization.

d. Implement and review the design and development of all aspects of automation testing (e.g. creation, execution and maintenance of automated test scripts).

e. Collaborates with the Manual Quality Team for the test cases to automate and provide feedback on test case creation improvements.

f. Executes manual test cases if necessary.

g. Perform test automation and setting up automation frameworks on multiple application platforms (e.g. Web, Mobile and Desktop).

h. Implement and monitor all automation processes and create status reports for progress.

i. Document all automation processes and design an efficient automation framework.

j. Provide inputs regarding improvements of tools and environment of existing automation framework.

k. Enhance the architecture of existing automation framework and test scripts.

l. Handle technical communications with other teams to understand systems and APIs.

m. Employ a variety of testing techniques to deliver product releases successfully including functional, regression and system tests.

n. Collaborate with the automation engineering team and contribute to overall automation efforts.

o. Research and recommend suitable automation frameworks for the project.

p. Creates test plan and test effort estimation.

q. Properly executes the test scripts, identifies the correct behavior of the system under test, replicates and reports uncovered defects.

r. Tests and certifies software defect fixes and new functionality. Executes functional, application and regression tests for software releases.

s. Writes clear and precise defect reports as required for identified software defects and functional defects based on testing results.

t. Writes and submits Test Summary Report and/or Test Acceptance Certificate.

u. Facilitates the Peer Review of automated Test Cases and Test Summary Report and/or Acceptance Test Certificate.

v. Reviews and analyzes test results and makes recommendations.

w. Enforces quality procedures and guidelines across the Software Development Life Cycle.

x. Contributes to the continuous improvement of the QA procedures and guidelines.

y. Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, break down high-level information into details, abstract up low-level information to a general understanding, and classify user requests between must have and not.

z. Satisfy customer by providing clear testing specifications and quality product according to specified requirements.

aa. Exhibits confidence in understanding the business concerns and provides sound business suggestions and recommendations accordingly.

2. Administrative Tasks

a. Records activities in ATLAS and reports/elevates issues to superior when needed.

b. Conducts needed validation to ensure compliance to the procedures in CMMI.

c. Prepares and submits needed reports.

d. Mentors and guides Junior Automation Quality Analyst and/or Manual QA Team.

3.Teamwork

a. Closely coordinates with other team members of the applications development and support.

b. Facilitates effective team interaction adhering to the values of the company and meeting the objectives.

c. Ability to adjust flexibly to help other team members to ensure continuity of providing service.

4. Learning and Development

a. Expand knowledge on business process and IT related information

b. Stay abreast of current technology, system information, problems, changes and updates

relevant to the team.

5. Performance of other tasks as maybe assigned.

The candidate must have:

• Obtained a Bachelor’s or College degree in either of the following - Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and/or related field.

• at least 5 years working experience in Automation Quality Assurance and/or testing with professional knowledge in any programming language (Java, JavaScript, C, C#) and shell scripting.

• Design, write and maintain automated tests for web and mobile storefronts

• Build and troubleshoot tests across multiple browsers, devices and locales, including cloud device grids (e.g. LambdaTest, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs)

• Create and maintain API-driven tests to validate backend behavior alongside the UI

• Git-based workflow and CI/CD familiarity

• Strong JavaScript (Node.js) experience

• Hands-on expertise with a modern browser automation tool (e.g. Playwright, Cypress) and BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin)

• Solid understanding of e-commerce user flows

• API testing experience — building requests, validating responses, using APIs for test data setup

• Knowledge in reading/writing SQL for test data verification

• Strong manual/exploratory testing skills alongside automation

• Must have an experience in creating a Master Test plan;

• Must have an in-depth understanding of Test Design Techniques, QA methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle (both Waterfall and Agile Development);

• With extensive knowledge of QA testing tools, different test design techniques, standards and processes;

• Exposure in business operations related to manufacturing, distribution and financial operations will be an advantage;

• Experience in various system development environment;

• Experience in leading a small QA Team in small to medium sized projects;

• ISTQB Testing Certification is a plus but not required;

• A competitive analytical problem solving skills and advanced communicative competence;
