Workday Financial Lead
Job Summary
The Workday Financials & Enterprise Applications Lead serves as the strategic technology partner for the Global Accounting organization, ensuring enterprise financial systems effectively support business operations, process improvements, and organizational growth. This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of Workday Financials and related enterprise applications by translating business requirements into scalable technology solutions. The position works closely with Accounting, Technology, and cross-functional stakeholders to enhance system efficiency, drive automation, and improve financial processes across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Financials Strategy, Design & Optimization
Lead the design, configuration, implementation, and continuous optimization of Workday Financials solutions based on business requirements.
Partner with Technology teams and system stakeholders to ensure successful integrations between Workday Financials and other enterprise applications.
Analyze system performance, identify areas for improvement, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolution to maintain platform stability.
Stay updated on Workday releases, enhancements, and industry best practices to recommend improvements and innovation opportunities.
Accounting Process Transformation & Business Partnership
Serve as the primary liaison between Global Accounting teams and Technology teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and system capabilities.
Evaluate existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and operational enhancements.
Translate accounting requirements into functional specifications and scalable system solutions.
Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, and business stakeholders to support process transformation initiatives.
System Support, Governance & Reporting
Provide subject matter expertise and functional support for Workday Financials-related inquiries, enhancements, and business needs.
Develop and maintain system documentation, process guidelines, and best practices.
Support user adoption through training, knowledge sharing, and guidance on Workday functionality.
Prepare and present system performance updates, project status reports, and recommendations to leadership.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Build strong relationships across Accounting, Finance, Technology, and external partners.
Participate in enterprise application initiatives, system upgrades, and cross-functional projects.
Promote a collaborative environment focused on accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
Experience
8+ years of experience in accounting, finance systems, ERP applications, or enterprise technology solutions.
Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, including configuration, optimization, implementation, or support.
Strong understanding of accounting processes including:
General Ledger (GL)
Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
Record-to-Report (R2R)
Asset Management
Banking & Settlement
Financial Reporting
Experience leading ERP Financials implementations, integrations, system enhancements, or transformation initiatives.
Experience working with Professional Services Automation (PSA) solutions and project-based financial processes is highly preferred.
Demonstrated experience partnering with Finance and Technology teams in a global or complex business environment.

Travel Requirements
Less than 10% domestic travel may be required.
