Senior Post Sales Engineering (Thermal)
The purpose of this position is to provide post-sales engineering review and support for Mega projects in SEA, Japan and Korea. Provide thermal solution guidance and expertise on the application and installation of Vertiv thermal products including support with approved third-party vendors and internal teams, to facilitate smooth deployment of major projects undertaken by the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
ICA Technical Reviews:
On receipt of the Document Package, interrogate the documentation to ensure buildability and budget compliance.
Review all aspects of the proposal, from Statement of Compliance through to Commissioning and Hand-over, including provision of Training and Documentation requirements to the customer.
Once Technical Review is complete, engage with our partners, contractors, and vendors to assure the most cost-effective and technically sound solution has been selected by the Pre-Sales teams. Work with Product Managers, Service Teams, and our source factories as necessary.
Technical Submittals :
During the Post-Sales phase, attend project technical meetings on scope of supply, technical qualifications and testing procedures and programs are understood by Vertiv associates, contractors, other vendors, and our customer.
Manage revisions and updates post the Purchase Order. This will include incorporating documentation changes into revised Statements of Compliance and other affected documents.
Work with Vertiv Factory on Detail product drawing submission eg Fan wall, Chiller, Liquid cooling system.
Work with product team/presale team on Vertiv equipment Factory witness test script documentation.
Work with PSA team to have as-built drawings developed and updated as necessary, ready for site hand-over.
DocuMentation management:
Facilitate the hand-over documentation process from Pre to Post-Sales teams once a project has been won or has a very high likelihood. Documentation will include, but not limited to: Specifications, Vertiv Quotes, Statements of Compliance, Drawings, Bills of Work, Vendor Proposals, Commissioning requirements and project schedules.
Similarly, attend to the transfer process for projects going from Post-Sales to Project Management.
Maintain a comprehensive documentation register for all project files and ensure the latest revisions are uploaded to the company server. With assistance of documentation control admin/ system.
Check new revisions for details affecting Vertiv’s scope of supply and quickly communicate any impacts to Vertiv’s technical, cost and schedule impacts, back to the customer and the Sales and Projects team for management of variations.
Provide a completed set of project documentation to the Project Management Team on delivery of the project for hand-over to the client. With assistance of documentation control admin/ system.
Scope Changes:
Liaise with Sales and Project Managers to capture all site, scope and testing departures from our original submission, are captured, and highlighted to the customer. Provide variation documentation as and when required to ensure Entry margins are not eroded through the span of the project.
Site Commissioning Co-ordination:
Actively engage with site commissioning teams early in the project cycle to develop a thorough understanding of site requirements and advise Vertiv’s position. Engage with Service and PM teams to ensure thorough understanding.
Liaise with the Commissioning Engineer to review test scripts that align with the customer requirements, Compliance Statement and costed BoW’s. Identify gaps and provide proposals for any uplift that may be identified.
Provide sequence of operation of Vertiv product with input from pre-sale design parameter.
Be available on site, as necessary to provide support to Service and Project Management Teams.
Collect Test results and Service FSR’s to incorporate into the hand-over documentation pack.
Continuous Improvement:
At the end of each project, develop, in conjunction with the Project Managers, a list of Lessons Learned and schedule a discussion with the PSA team to walk through the document. The purpose of this step is to promote a higher level of understanding to the PSA team and improve the quality of submissions that go out to our customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering
Data Centre Tier Designer
ACAD drawing skills would be an advantage
5 Years as a application Engineer.
At least 5-years working in the Data Centre/Telecommunications industry.
Project Management
HVAC system knowledge of mission critical power infrastructure, including application, installation, commissioning, testing and communications connectivity.
Tender processes and the application of products to fit their requirements.
Excellent technical understanding and knowledge of thermal management products and concepts.
Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications.
Understand customer needs and prepare data in line with their expectations.
Liaise with key vendors / suppliers to extract pricing from them, in line with the customer’s expectations.
Report writing and Excel Spreadsheet creation and Maintenance.
Communication, Negotiation, Interpersonal and Presentation skills.
Computer literacy skills – Microsoft Office / Windows / Project.
