We are looking for a reliable and motivated Housekeeper / Breakfast Attendant to join our team at Haberfield Hotel.

This is a hands-on role combining breakfast service, housekeeping, and public area cleaning. It is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys staying busy, can work independently, and is looking for long-term employment with opportunities for growth.

The Haberfield Hotel opened in September 2024 and is a 67-room hotel featuring an on-site café and bar. We offer a premium yet relaxed experience for both guests and team members. Our mission is simple: great service, great people, and a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

Essential Requirements

• Must live locally in Sydney’s Inner West or have reliable transport for early starts
• Must be available to start at 6:30am on Tuesdays and Wednesdays
• Take pride in your work and attention to detail
• Be happy following policies and procedures
• Not be afraid of hard work and staying busy
• Be able to work independently and use initiative
• Be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Be willing to step up and assist wherever required
• Be looking for long-term employment
• Available to work weekends, public holidays, and school holidays as required

About the Role

This is a combined Housekeeper / Breakfast Attendant position.

The successful applicant will operate our continental breakfast service on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6:30am before transitioning into housekeeping and public area duties.

On other rostered days, the role will primarily consist of housekeeping and public area cleaning duties. There may also be opportunities to cover additional breakfast shifts when team members are on annual leave or absent due to illness.

This role is ideal for someone seeking variety in their work and who enjoys contributing across multiple areas of the hotel.

Breakfast Duties

• Set up and present the continental breakfast buffet
• Prepare fresh fruit salad and breakfast items
• Monitor and replenish food and beverage items
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the breakfast area
• Clean dishes, wipe surfaces, and mop floors
• Pack down and clean the breakfast service area
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering requirements
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are met
• Provide friendly and efficient service to guests

Housekeeping & Public Area Duties

• Strip and make beds
• Service stayover rooms
• Perform full departure cleans
• Clean and maintain public areas and guest facilities
• Ensure all hotel areas meet our high presentation standards
• Work efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail

About You

• Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, hospitality, café, or kitchen environments is preferred but not essential
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Genuine passion for hospitality and guest service
• Food Handling Certificate preferred or willingness to obtain
