DEVOPS ENGINEER (Mid-Level)

About the role

APW Tech is seeking a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join our growing technology team based in Makati City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on-site in a dynamic and innovative environment. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between software development and IT operations, ensuring seamless deployment, scalability, and reliability of our systems and applications. This position is integral to our mission of delivering high-quality technology solutions and maintaining our infrastructure's stability and performance.

Key responsibilities

1. Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure and on-premise systems to support application development and production environments

2. Develop and implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate the software release process

3. Monitor system performance, availability, and security, implementing proactive measures to ensure optimal uptime and reliability

4. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot technical issues, optimise application performance, and resolve deployment challenges

5. Manage containerisation and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, to streamline application deployment

6. Implement and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

7. Establish and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures

8. Conduct security audits and implement best practices for system hardening and vulnerability management

9. Document infrastructure configurations, runbooks, and standard operating procedures for team reference and compliance

10. Participate in on-call rotation to provide incident response and support for critical infrastructure issues

What we're looking for

1. 3-5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, systems administration, or a related infrastructure role

2. Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

3. Demonstrated expertise with containerisation technologies, particularly Docker and Kubernetes

4. Solid understanding of CI/CD tools and practices, including experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms

5. Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible

6. Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, Bash, or Go

7. Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line interface operations

8. Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, ELK Stack, Datadog, or New Relic

9. Understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, TCP/IP, and load balancing

10. Experience with version control systems such as Git

11. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

12. Preferred: Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing

13. Preferred: Knowledge of security best practices and compliance frameworks relevant to cloud infrastructure

14. Preferred: Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar industry-recognised qualifications
