JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assume the role of a substitute parent of the residents and look after their physical, social and emotional well-being in the institutions;
- Observes and records any significant behavioral manifestation of clients and reports to the supervising Houseparent as reference of the rehabilitation team (e.g. incident, progress and behavioral report);
- Prepares anecdotal reports of behavior of clients;
- Attends homelife meetings and case conference;
- Administers medication to clients, in accordance to specific instructions provided by the Nurse/Medical Officer;
- Prepares prescribed food such as for clients by following the instructions of Nutritionist Dietician appropriately;
- Leads educational activities such as reading, writing and participation in extracurricular activities in a bid to develop the client’s interest as part of learning process;
- Assist/supervises the socio-cultural, spiritual, physical and moral development of clients;
- Assists in the implementation of practical skills development and other activities;
- Provides direct care and supervision to able-bodied clients in the residential care facilities in performing daily activities;
- Manages distribution of resources to ensure proper and efficient consumption;
- Undertakes general household duties, including cleaning and laundry, in order to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the Center;
- Acts as watcher in hospital and executive-on-duty when necessary;
- Records important events in the logbook;
- Participates in staff meeting and conferences, rehabilitation team meeting;
- Performs other tasks that may be assigned.
