Retail Solar Engineer (Calamba)
Position Summary:
The Retail Solar Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end technical support of retail (residential and small commercial) solar projects—from pre-sales engineering and estimation to design validation and project execution support. This role works closely with Sales, Project Services Group (PSG), and Operations to ensure accurate costing, efficient system design, and successful project delivery across multiple areas in Luzon.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Pre-Sales Engineering & Technical Support
Work closely with the Sales team to evaluate client requirements and recommend optimal solar solutions.
Conduct site assessments (actual or remote) and validate technical feasibility.
Provide technical inputs during client meetings, presentations, and proposal discussions.
Support ROI analysis, system sizing, and energy production estimates.
2. Design & Estimation
Prepare detailed solar PV system designs including layout, inverter sizing, and electrical configuration.
Review and align Bill of Materials (BOM), load schedules, and technical specifications.
Coordinate with Estimation/PSG team in preparing accurate costings and work order references.
Validate labor requirements and installation methodology aligned with company standards.
3. Project Coordination & Execution Support
Endorse approved designs and technical documents to Operations for implementation.
Provide technical guidance to site engineers and contractors during installation.
Ensure all installations comply with company standards, safety policies, and regulatory
requirements.
Assist in resolving technical issues, design conflicts, and site-related concerns.
4. Quality Assurance & Post-Installation Support
Support inspection, testing, and commissioning of solar systems.
Monitor system performance and recommend improvements or corrective actions.
Assist in project close-out documentation.
Address client concerns and provide after-sales technical support when needed.
5. Specialized Support
Assist different areas with solar-related technical concerns and project requirements.
Support integration of solar systems in specialized projects (e.g., cold storage, industrial facilities, pre-engineered structures).
Participate in knowledge-sharing, upskilling, and technical training initiatives across teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Licensed Electrical Engineer (preferred).
At least 2–5 years of experience in solar PV design, estimation, or project execution.
Experience working with cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Operations).
Proficiency in design tools (AutoCAD, PVsyst, or equivalent).
Strong understanding of electrical systems, load computations, and grid interconnection.
