Job Title: Safety Officer 3
Department: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) / Project Operations
Reports To: Project Manager / HSE Manager / Site Manager
Job Summary:
The Safety Officer 3 is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing occupational health and safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable government regulations. The role focuses on identifying workplace hazards, preventing accidents, conducting safety inspections, and promoting a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement and monitor site safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with company standards and applicable laws.
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify unsafe conditions and practices.
Ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements and project safety standards.
Conduct toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
Monitor work activities and ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Coordinate with project management regarding safety concerns and preventive measures.
Prepare and maintain safety documentation including inspection reports, permits, incident reports, and compliance records.
Monitor implementation of emergency preparedness and response procedures.
Ensure work permits and risk assessments are completed before high-risk activities commence.
Recommend improvements to enhance workplace safety performance.
Coordinate with regulatory agencies, client representatives, and internal departments regarding safety compliance.
Assist in conducting safety training and competency programs for employees.
Perform other related duties as may be assigned by Management.
