Position Summary:

Facilities and Maintenance engineer designs, plans, and manages utility infrastructure for projects, overseeing the technical aspects from concept to completion. Key responsibilities include leading junior staff, providing technical expertise on systems like water, sewer, and power, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing project documentation, budgets, and schedules. They are also involved in feasibility studies, risk assessments, and maintenance planning.

Scope and responsibilities:

Maintenance Operations and Planning

• Develop, organize, and oversee the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring all equipment and facility requirements are proactively addressed.

• Lead and support complex troubleshooting efforts on critical equipment, performing hands-on diagnostics and repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

• Monitor and manage spare parts inventory levels, working closely with procurement to ensure critical parts are available when needed and avoid disruptions in maintenance activities.

• Establish and maintain documentation of all maintenance schedules, repair records, and PM activities to track performance, identify improvement areas, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.

Team Leadership and Skill Development

• Direct and support the maintenance team in daily activities, assigning tasks, monitoring completion, and providing technical expertise to ensure adherence to best practices.

• Conduct regular evaluations of team members to assess skills, productivity, and adherence to maintenance protocols, providing constructive feedback and creating development plans to enhance team capabilities.

• Develop and deliver training modules tailored to technician skill enhancement, focusing on diagnostic techniques, repair procedures, equipment handling, and safety protocols. Guide technicians through skill-up plans to build a high-performing team capable of addressing complex maintenance challenges.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance

• Proactively identify areas for improvement in maintenance processes and equipment efficiency, developing and implementing strategic improvement plans to reduce downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and enhance overall facility performance.

• Work closely with production lines and other departments to align maintenance activities with operational needs, ensuring minimal disruption to production and promoting seamless collaboration across functions.

• Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted following safety regulations, environmental standards, and organizational policies. Conduct regular inspections, risk assessments, and safety training to foster a compliant and safe working environment.

Other Related Tasks

• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Facilities and Maintenance team and ensure efficient operations.

• Assist with special projects or initiatives related to Facilities and Maintenance team as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or any related field.

• Minimum of 2 - 3 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field, with a strong understanding of equipment maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

• Experience in team leadership and managing a small to medium-sized group of technicians, including assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing guidance on technical issues.

• Proven track record in preventive and corrective maintenance operations, including the ability to plan, schedule, and execute maintenance activities effectively to minimize downtime.

• Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting complex machinery or facility issues, with the ability to diagnose problems and implement timely and effective solutions.

• Hands-on experience in inventory management, particularly spare parts monitoring and procurement, ensuring availability of critical materials for maintenance work.

• Familiarity with safety and regulatory compliance standards in a maintenance or industrial setting, with a focus on maintaining a safe work environment and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

• Experience in developing and conducting training programs for technical staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge in equipment maintenance, repair techniques, and safety practices.
