Copywriter – B2B Growth & Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Persuasive Copy: Write clear, compelling, and persuasive sales copy for a variety of outbound and inbound channels, including email campaigns, cold outreach, website, landing pages, social media, lead generation campaigns, and sales enablement materials.
- Understand Target Audience: Conduct research to understand the pain points, needs, ambitions, and decision-making drivers of gigCMO’s target audience, including start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, founders, business owners, and senior decision-makers seeking strategic marketing leadership and revenue growth.
- Implement Effective SEO Practices: Conduct keyword optimisation and create customer-centric website copy that improves search visibility, attracts qualified prospects, and supports gigCMO’s positioning as a growth consultancy.
- Conduct Competitor Analysis: Study the messaging, positioning, and copywriting techniques of competitors, fractional CMO providers, marketing consultancies, and relevant growth advisory businesses to identify best practices, market gaps, and opportunities to strengthen gigCMO’s communications.
- Create Engaging Content: Develop attention-grabbing subject lines, headlines, calls to action, website copy, landing page copy, campaign messaging, and thought leadership content that encourages engagement and conversion.
- Master the Company’s Product/Service: Build a deep understanding of gigCMO’s services, including strategic marketing leadership, fractional CMO support, growth consultancy, go-to-market strategy, playbook-driven marketing, knowledge transfer, and marketing capability development.
- Translate Strategic Services into Clear Messaging: Simplify complex marketing, growth, and consultancy concepts into clear, commercially relevant, and customer-focused copy that resonates with business leaders.
- Collaborate with Lead Gen and HubSpot Teams: Work closely with the Lead Generation and HubSpot teams to align copy with campaign strategies, CRM workflows, customer journeys, sales funnels, and revenue growth objectives.
- Optimise for Performance: Continuously test and optimise copy to improve open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, engagement, lead quality, and overall campaign performance.
- Report on Copy Performance: Synthesise copy performance data and insights into actionable recommendations for campaign optimisation, messaging improvements, and future copy strategy.
- Maintain Brand Consistency: Ensure all copy reflects gigCMO’s brand positioning, tone of voice, value proposition, and focus on measurable business growth.
- Stay Up-to-Date: Keep up with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in copywriting, B2B marketing, SEO, outbound and inbound sales strategies, fractional marketing leadership, and AI-assisted marketing workflows.
Primary Brand Focus:
You will primarily write copy for gigCMO, a growth consultancy that provides strategic marketing leadership and expertise to start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs to help drive profitable revenue growth.
Your work will support gigCMO’s own marketing, lead generation, website, email campaigns, social media, thought leadership, sales enablement, and client-facing communications. The copy should clearly communicate gigCMO’s value proposition: helping businesses turn marketing into a structured, measurable growth engine through marketing leadership, playbook-driven execution, and knowledge transfer.
You will also support copywriting initiatives across selected client brands or related projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Marketing and Sales Experience: Proven understanding of marketing and sales principles, with a track record of crafting copy that drives action, supports lead generation, and contributes to measurable commercial outcomes.
- Research Skills: Ability to conduct thorough research and synthesise information into clear, compelling, and customer-focused narratives for B2B audiences.
- Proven Copywriting Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in copywriting, content writing, marketing communications, or related fields.
- Strong Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to adapt tone and style across different channels, audiences, and stages of the marketing funnel.
- Creativity: Innovative thinker with the ability to generate unique ideas, messaging angles, campaign concepts, and copy that differentiates gigCMO in the market.
- Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Lead Generation, HubSpot, marketing, sales, and leadership teams.
- Time Management: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in using analytics tools to extract and measure copy performance metrics, including open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, engagement data, lead quality, and search visibility.
- Data-driven Thinking Skills: Ability to interpret, evaluate, and synthesise data findings and insights to inform strategic decisions, identify patterns, and improve copy, messaging, and campaign performance.
- Product/Service Knowledge: Ability to rapidly build a deep understanding of gigCMO’s services and translate strategic marketing, fractional CMO, growth consultancy, and capability-building concepts into compelling, customer-centric narratives.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to position each piece of copy within the broader context of the campaign strategy, marketing funnel, customer journey, sales process, and brand identity, recognising that copy does not exist in isolation.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of how marketing supports revenue growth, lead generation, customer acquisition, and long-term business capability.
- B2B Communication Skills: Ability to write confidently for founders, business owners, senior executives, and decision-makers across start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs.
