Quality Assurance Specialist
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Test and Planning Strategy:
§ Develop detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on product requirements and specifications.
§ Design testing strategies for new features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
§ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project objectives and testing requirements.
2. Test Execution:
§ Execute functional, integration, regression, and performance testing to ensure the software functions as expected.
§ Perform manual and automated testing on various platforms (web, mobile, desktop) based on project requirements.
§ Identify, document, and track defects, inconsistencies, or deviations from the intended functionality using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
3. Quality Assurance Process:
§ Ensure compliance with established quality assurance standards and practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
§ Establish and maintain test environments, ensuring that they replicate the production environment as closely as possible.
§ Participate in design and code reviews to ensure high quality from the start of development.
4. Collaboration with Cross Functional Team:
§ Work closely with cross functional team to reproduce, isolate, and resolve issues.
§ Provide feedback and recommendations on potential improvements to the software’s functionality, user experience, or overall quality.
§ Collaborate with Product Managers and Business Analysts to ensure alignment on testing scope and objectives.
5. Continuous Improvement:
§ Continuously seek opportunities to improve testing processes, methodologies, and efficiency.
§ Keep up-to-date with the latest testing tools, trends, and technologies, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
§ Analyze test results and produce meaningful reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
6. Risk Management:
§ Identify and assess risks in the project’s software quality and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders.
§ Prioritize testing efforts based on risk and criticality to ensure that high-priority defects are addressed.
7. Documentation:
§ Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of testing processes, procedures, test results, and defect tracking.
§ Prepare reports and metrics on testing progress, defect density, and other key performance indicators for quality assurance.
Qualifications:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
§ Proven experience in software quality assurance and testing methodologies.
§ Strong knowledge of testing tools, bug-tracking systems, and automated testing frameworks.
§ Ability to write detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
§ Familiarity with different project management methodologies.
§ Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
§ Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and directly with clients.
§ Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
§ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to escalate issues appropriately.
§ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
