Electric Engineer

Location: San Nicolas San Fernando, Pampanga

Job Summary:
Design, Develop, and optimize solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and related renewable-energy projects from concept through construction and commissioning. Ensure technical compliance, maximize system performance and ROI, support permitting and interconnection, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, cost-effective projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead PV system design: site assessment, shading analysis, layout, stringing, and single-line diagrams.

  • Perform electrical and structural calculations, energy yield modeling, and loss analysis using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, SAM, or similar.

  • Develop BOMs, cost estimates, and technical specifications for inverters, modules, racking, trackers, combiner boxes, and balance-of-system components.

  • Prepare and review construction drawings, permit submittals, interconnection applications, and utility studies.

  • Support procurement and vendor evaluation; review product datasheets and ensure component compatibility.

  • Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning, and performance testing; troubleshoot and resolve field issues.

  • Monitor and analyze system performance (SCADA, performance ratio, O&M data) and recommend improvements or remedial actions.

  • Ensure designs meet electrical codes (PEC), local building codes, safety standards, and utility requirements.

  • Coordinate with civil, structural, environmental, and permitting teams; liaise with utilities, EPCs, and stakeholders.

  • Maintain project documentation, design records, and as-built drawings; support warranty claims and lifecycle maintenance planning.

  • Stay current on PV technology, industry standards, and incentives; contribute to R&D, pilot projects, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy, or related engineering discipline.

  • 5+ years' experience in solar PV system design, engineering, or EPC execution.

  • Proficiency with PV design and modeling tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, SAM), CAD (AutoCAD, Civil3D), and electrical analysis software.

  • Strong understanding of PV electrical systems, inverters, protections, grounding, and NEC requirements.

  • Experience with utility interconnection processes and permitting.

  • Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving aptitude.

  • Effective written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Valid driver's license; willingness to travel to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PEE) license or REE

  • Experience with modules, single and three phase, energy storage integration (BESS), or hybrid systems.

  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, O&M practices, and performance monitoring tools.

  • Experience with racking and foundation engineering for rooftop and ground-mount systems.

  • Knowledge of incentive programs (ITC, state/local incentives) and finance models for project evaluation.
