Mechanical Draftsman
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Mechanical Draftsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate HVAC shop drawings, mechanical layouts, ducting and piping plans, and coordinating designs with various disciplines involved in construction projects. The role requires proficiency in drafting software and a strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction drawings.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare HVAC shop drawings, layouts, and detailed mechanical plans based on project requirements and engineering specifications.
Draft ductwork, piping systems, equipment installation drawings, and mechanical details using AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
Coordinate drawings with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, Plumbing, and other MEP disciplines to ensure design compatibility and clash-free implementation.
Revise and update drawings based on engineer comments, client requirements, and actual site conditions.
Prepare as-built drawings reflecting completed installations and project modifications.
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
Assist engineers and project teams in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
Ensure all drawings comply with company standards, project requirements, and applicable codes and regulations.
Support project coordination meetings and provide drafting-related technical assistance when necessary.
Qualifications
Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Drafting Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit.
Able to read and interpret mechanical, architectural, and construction drawings.
Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, ducting, piping, and mechanical installations.
Familiarity with MEP coordination is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drafting work.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Experience
At least 1–2 years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting, HVAC projects, or construction-related drafting works.
Experience in preparing shop drawings and as-built drawings for commercial, industrial, or construction projects is an advantage.
