Job Description:
Determine the need, size, and cost of a product; anticipate production issues; develop alternatives; evaluate options; and implement solutions.
Produce concepts that are innovative, feasible and suitable for manufacturing or production. Create technical specifications and user guides for mass or batch production.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult managers and clients about design requirements.

• Clarify and solve design issues.

• Research users’ needs.

• Investigate appropriate materials and production processes.

• Produce sketches, sample designs and prototypes.

• Test product designs using specialist computer software and computer-aided design (CAD) technology.

• Help to further refine workflow processes to enhance the product development process.

• Submitting proposals and designs for evaluation by the project team and management before moving to the next stage.

• Support cost reduction while maintaining design intent and user experience.

• Maintain an awareness of current design trends and influences.

• Liaising with production, sales and marketing departments.

• Correct product faults.

• Present designs, samples and final work to clients for evaluation.

Qualifications:

• A candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or any related field.

• Knowledgeable or/and with work experience in Furniture Design/ Architectural Drafting/ Interior Design.

• Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, detailed drawings and specifications.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Required skills: AutoCAD, Sketchup & Adobe Photoshop

• Travel to different locations to preview work areas and conceptualize designs.

• Manage design, feasibility and cost on each product.

• Prepare 3D models and detailed drawings with CAD software using the company and customer standards or procedures to meet all requirements.
