Job Description

  • Welding & Fabrication: Executes complex welding (MIG, TIG, SMAW) and cutting tasks to repair or recreate damaged metal parts, such as bulkheads, plates, and frames.
  • Machinery Support: Assists in the major overhaul of pumps, motors, and auxiliary engines. This often involves using lathe machines to fabricate precision parts like bolts and flanges.
  • Pipeline Maintenance: Repairs and maintains the ship's intricate network of fuel, water, and hydraulic pipes.
  • Workshop Management: Acts as the "master" of the ship's workshop, maintaining all welding sets, grinders, and hand tools.
  • Emergency Repairs: Provides immediate technical support during at-sea breakdowns to ensure the vessel remains seaworthy.
  • Skills and Qualifications:

    AT LEAST 18 MONTHS OF EXPERIENCE AS FITTER

    WITH OR WITHOUT VALID US VISA 

    HOLDING VALID DOCUMENTS
