INTERNAL AUDIT HEAD

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or other relevant disciplines 

• Must possess CIA and CPA certification 

• Have 7+ years of experience in auditing and/or systems experience in a financial institution or similar public accounting experience. Knowledge of auditing in the financial services industry preferred 

• Knowledgeable in AMLA  

• Have significant experience in handling or managing people 

• A self-starter with an ability to self-motivate 

• Strong communicator, an excellent leader and can lead and motivate cross-functional teams of varying skill and knowledge levels 

• You are highly numerate with strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail 

• Proactively assess issues, identify solutions and problem solve 

• Demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and to deliver results on tight deadlines 

• Must thrive on working in a dynamic, fast paced environment  

Main tasks and responsibilities 

• Demonstrate appropriate leadership and the necessary skills to maintain the unit’s independence and objectivity. 

• Be accountable to the audit committee on all matters related to the performance of its mandate as provided in the Internal Audit Charter 

• Prepare, submit and present various reports to the audit committee on the status of accomplishments of the internal audit unit, including findings noted during the conduct of the internal audit as well as the status of compliance of concerned departments / units. 

• Ensure that the internal audit function complies with sound internal auditing standards and other supplemental standards by appropriate regulatory authorities or agencies, as well as relevant code of ethics. 

• Develop an audit plan to be approved by the Board of directors based on robust risk assessment, including inputs from the audit committee and senior management and ensure that such plan is comprehensive and adequately covers regulatory matters. 

• Ensure that the internal audit function has adequate human resources with sufficient qualifications and skills necessary to accomplish its mandate. 

• Such other duties and responsibilities as the board of directors may direct or those imposed by applicable laws or regulations.
