Industrial Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on mixers, ovens, conveyors, and packaging machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency.

  • Mechanical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical failures involving gears, bearings, chains, sprockets, and drive belts.

  • Fluid Power Systems: Maintain and repair pneumatic and hydraulic components, including cylinders, valves, pumps, and air compressors.

  • Basic Electrical Support: Assist with minor electrical tasks such as replacing fuses, sensors, or basic wiring under the guidance of the Electrical team.

  • Fabrication & Welding: Perform basic metal fabrication, welding (SMAW/TIG), and machining to repair or reinforce equipment components.

  • Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the production line and suggest mechanical modifications to improve speed or safety.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Participate in "Breakdown Analysis" meetings to identify why a part failed and how to prevent recurrence.

  • GMP & Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs are conducted according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and that guards/interlocks are always functional.

Qualifications

  • Education: Vocational diploma or Associate’s degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics.

  • Experience: At least 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing plant environment (food, pharma, or FMCG preferred).

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers).

    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical manuals.

    • Strong knowledge of lubrication standards and bearing maintenance.

  • Soft Skills: Strong manual dexterity, ability to work independently, and a "sense of urgency" during production halts.

Work Environment

  • This is a physically demanding role requiring the ability to lift heavy parts (up to 25kg) and stand for long shifts.

  • Must be comfortable working in high-temperature areas (near ovens) or cold storage as required by the plant layout.
