Data Governance Analyst 

Job Summary 

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to support and enhance enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data governance frameworks, metadata management, data quality, and regulatory compliance, with hands-on expertise in Microsoft Purview as a core requirement. 

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, data owners, data stewards, IT teams, and compliance functions to establish and maintain trusted, governed, and high-quality data assets across the organization. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Support the implementation and ongoing management of enterprise data governance programs and policies  

• Configure, administer, and optimize Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, data lineage, classification, and governance workflows  

• Collaborate with data owners and stewards to define and maintain business glossaries, metadata standards, and data classifications  

• Monitor and improve data quality through governance controls, profiling, and issue remediation processes  

• Assist in establishing data governance standards, procedures, and best practices 

• Conduct data discovery and lineage analysis across multiple data platforms and systems 

• Support compliance initiatives related to data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements  

• Create governance dashboards, reports, and metrics to track data governance maturity and effectiveness  

• Facilitate governance meetings, workshops, and stakeholder communications  

• Partner with technical teams to integrate governance controls into data pipelines and analytics platforms  

• Support user training and adoption initiatives related to Microsoft Purview and governance processes  

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field  

• At least 2 years experience in data governance, data management, or related disciplines  

• Mandatory hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview  

• Strong understanding of:  Metadata Management, Data Cataloging, Data Lineage, Data classification, Data quality management, Master data management principles  

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and industry best practices  

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills  

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional business and technical teams
