GCP Data Engineer (BigQuery)

The Role

We're seeking an experienced GCP Data Engineer (BigQuery) to join our dynamic team at NYGC Services, Inc.'. In this key role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable data solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies, with a focus on BigQuery. Your work will be crucial in supporting the company's data-driven initiatives and unlocking valuable insights to drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and build reliable, high-performing data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP tools like BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, and Cloud Dataproc

2. Optimise and maintain BigQuery data warehouses, ensuring efficient data storage, querying, and analysis

3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable data solutions

4. Develop and implement data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance

5. Automate data-related tasks and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort

6. Provide technical guidance and support to other team members, fostering a collaborative environment

7. Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and industry trends, and proactively suggest improvements to our data infrastructure

What We're Looking For

1. Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a GCP Data Engineer, with a strong focus on BigQuery

2. Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data engineering tools and technologies

3. Familiarity with GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, and Cloud Storage

4. Experience in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and efficient data pipelines

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

7. Passion for staying up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in data engineering
