Structural Engineer
A structural engineer designs, analyzes, and inspects load-bearing structures to ensure they are safe, stable, and capable of withstanding environmental forces and human use. They collaborate with architects and contractors to select materials, draft blueprints, and oversee construction.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Analysis: Calculate static/dynamic loads and stresses (e.g., wind, gravity, earthquakes). Develop 2D/3D models using CAD and analysis software like Revit or SAP2000.
Material Selection: Choose appropriate, cost-effective, and durable construction materials.
Collaboration: Coordinate with architects, project managers, and contractors to ensure the structural vision aligns with budget and practicality.
Site Inspections & Administration: Monitor construction progress, review shop drawings, and inspect existing structures for modifications or repairs.
