Building Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems
Conduct regular inspections of common areas, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal operation
Perform preventive maintenance and assist in troubleshooting and repair works
Respond promptly to maintenance concerns raised by residents and property management
Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate with accredited contractors and suppliers for specialized repairs and maintenance
Assist in the implementation of energy-saving and cost-efficiency initiatives
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service requests, and equipment performance
Support the testing and upkeep of emergency systems (generator sets, fire alarms, pumps, etc.)
Escalate major issues and recommend solutions to senior engineering staff or management
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)
At least 1–2 years of experience in building operations, facilities management, or property engineering is an advantage
Basic to intermediate knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices
Familiarity with residential building operations is a plus
Strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and attention to detail
Good communication skills and customer-service orientation
Working Conditions
Willingness to work on shifting schedules, weekends, or holidays
May be required to respond to emergencies outside regular working hours
