Central Services Technician/Systems Administrator (Permanent WFH)

SUMMARY 

A Central Services Technician supports the organization’s shared technology infrastructure and internal services. The role focuses on backup operations, maintaining systems, handling service requests, and ensuring core IT operations run smoothly.  The technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining centralized IT systems, services, and infrastructure within the organization. This role assists with backups, hardware and software deployment, system maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring reliable IT service delivery to internal users. 


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Provide technical support for centralized IT systems, including servers, networks, and shared applications. 

  • Monitor backups and general system performance and respond to service alerts or outages. 

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, and software. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. 

  • Perform system updates, patches, and routine maintenance tasks. 

  • Document procedures, incidents, and technical solutions in the service management system. 

  • Collaborate with other IT teams such as network, security, and infrastructure. 

  • Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security standards. 


QUALIFICATIONS 

Required Qualifications 

  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or systems administration. 

  • Experience with Veeam Backups 

  • Knowledge of Windows OS 

  • Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). 

  • Experience with ticketing systems and IT service management tools. 

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). 

  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications. 

  • Experience with Azure Backups 

  • Knowledge of Linux and MacOS. 

  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KCM). 

  • Familiarity with Active Directory and cloud services such as Microsoft 365 or Azure. 

  • Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash).

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • Should be willing to accept a long-term work-from-home arrangement. 

  • Should be amenable to a permanent night shift schedule.
