It's a great opportunity to have been exposed to a multinational law firm.
The good thingsPay is above average compared to local companies. Several colleagues are fun to work with and very helpful. They also offer a shuttle service for employees whose shifts extend past regular working hours. The firm tries its best to encourage work-life balance.
The challengesSome tenured employees, especially those who are advanced in age, take advantage of the policy, which affects team members and occasionally the entire Manila office. Some leaders have favoritism. If you won't negotiate and outright say your expected salary, you will be offered a certain percentage higher than your previous work's.

Good in the outside, bad in the inside
The good thingsSubsidized X percent of the foods, complimentary drinks, and coffees. New building.
The challengesNewly hired leaders do not know the work of their team, have no respect for those who are tenured based on how they have worked over the years, micromanage and control, and have no career growth.

The challengesNo Opportunities for career development No external training for IT No room for Growth Low Salary Depending on your dept/group but in my case, My manager has no idea what he is doing. No experience. He is nice but that's not enough. He can't promote his employee except for himself.

The good thingsWhite & Case has a competitive benefits package. If you're looking for stability, this is the company to be in.
The challengesJust the regular work stuff but is manageable. If you do well, you will be rewarded justly. I'm speaking at least for my department.

The challengesWhen bosses do not love what you work the first time they scrap it up, then after few months, they will want to bring back what you have created the first time around.

    IN GOOD COMPANY
The good thingsI enjoyed the enabling environment, well-provided computer hardware and software, the Internet accessibility. Supervisors are approachable and helpful... to the point that I annoy them. A very corporate feel to the company, plus they have good wellness programs for employees.
The challengesIf you do not like repetitive and routine work, don't apply. If you are pursuing or wanting to pursue many things (grad school, advoc work, etc.), do not apply. If you don't like to be contractual or cannot wait to be regularized, do not apply. You are a cog in their corporate machine, you may need to look someplace else.

    White & Case work experience
The good thingsPeople are very humber and approachable. The company had a great medical package and benefits package. Schedule work times are flexible. Extravagant parties for a special occassions. Great structure of learning plans and career road mapping. Location of the office is such a very nice and neaty. First time employees were given a fair or high salaries which is it depends from the experiences. Affiliates from other office were very nice.
The challengesNot considering of giving its employees an extra month bonuses such as 14th month pay. Even though you have flexi time but in the planned KPI is not considering flexi time. A certain person must not use the flexi time and you have to go to the office on time even if you have flexi time.

    Employee Engagement at it's finest
The good thingsHere in DSM Manila, we believe engagement does make an \"employee\" a \"high performing employee\". When we say high performing, we does not only perform tasks that generally meet what is expected of us. We do tasks beyond what is ask for, becuase we believe we are taken good care of. Here in DSM Manila, we have many employee engagement activities which are so much fun, it feels like you're home.
The challengesMy personal challenge is having to go home past 10:00pm ang travel all the way North for 1 to 2 hours. Distance is what makes it challenging.
