Academic FreedomThe good thingsI greatly appreciated the teaching environment where I have the freedom to develop my teaching style. When given the opportunity to focus on less subjects to teach, I had the opportunity to gain more knowledge, do more research, and know more about myself.
The challengesMy department was not a big one at the time, so I understand that I had to be given more subjects to teach that what I can handle. This is challenging for both the teacher and student. This can be very frustrating especially when you feel you cannot provide your best. Also, salaries could be improved, or opportunities for more income sources could be explored, such as research studies.
