A very good training ground for multiskilling
The good things1. The people (but not all) 2. Workplace security 3. Dorms with housekeepers, automatic washing machines and dryers 4. Certifications (QMS, EMS, OSH) 5. Supportive and caring bosses (again, not all)
The challenges1. No security of tenure no matter how well you perform - you may be "kicked out" of job immediately, together with the privileges that come with your employment. They will even ask you what time of the day you'd be able to get out of the mill. 2. The people (for the third time, not all) 3. The feeling of doubt whether the act of kindness (of some) towards you is true or just for show 4. Multiskilling is good but there is the possibility of straying from the career path you really want to take.

    Good for Neophyte
The good thingsTIPCO will allow you to grow, and gives you training/seminar that you need. Also, they are ISO Certified so they'll offer you training that is really healthy for your career growth. Lot of activities (both for health and for fun). People working here are very friendly. Plus, you'll never have to worry about your accommodation, they have this almost free dormitories that have housekeeper that cleans everyday. I've been working here for almost half a decade now ! :)
The challengesThe only Con here is working on Sat

For entry level in IT especially for a programmer
The good thingsAt first year, It was good. You could say that you will be part of something big. Something bigger than yourself because they are rebuilding their ERP System. But the problem is they don't want to spend more on a experience developer. So, entry level is good. They even have a training of your choice. That is after your regularization or/and after your one year employment there. If you are searching for a job that will challenge your business analytics skills, they got lots of it. The good things I can highlight there is they have a nice benefits.
The challenges- Also at first, I don't think it will affect me that much if I work from Monday to Saturday but it does. So, do think that twice. - I have difficulty on negotiating a salary increase. - IT Dept. there have a lots of demanding internal customers. They also have affiliate company that needs to consider in designing your code.(Also in maintaining your code) - Even though I said it is good for entry level. As programmer, you should know how to teach yourself first. Also you should know how to build your fundamentals. Coz they are not IT Company.

It was a fun experience to spend my OJT at TIPCO, i’ve really learned a lot.
The good thingsThe company offers wide range of benefits for their workers. They value those employees who served the company for years and it doesn’t feel like a work place because everyone is is treated as a family. And working there makes you really feel secured.
The challengesWorking there was fun, I guess the most challenging part of my intern experience was when we got more than the usual samples to analyze. Another is the sudden shift of work to do.

A home for enhancing your skills and expertise but takes time to increase your salary
The good thingsPeople are nice and friendly it is a home for every employee. Training and seminars was provided so members will become competent and fit for the job. Dormitories and housing project was nice with lots of amenities like courts, gym and park. Benefits like insurance (80/20) with numbers of VL Starting rate is better compare to other company in the area but salary increase has low velocity.
The challengesThe challenge was leaving it due to salary problem while you already love the people working and you will missed the team camaraderie, sports fest and training's. Paper industry sales lowers as technological advantage improves, i believe this is one of the main challenge a pulp and paper mill will face as the future become electronics.

    Almost perfect...
The good thingsYou work in a very environmental friendly work place (from main operation of recycling papers to recycling operation by-products) The company gives a lot of focus on employee training for both hard kills and soft skills. From training on operational subject matters to training employees how to think like a stakeholder (ownership, responsibility, etc.) Provision for lodging is a plus factor
The challengesSince it is located in Pampanga, being away from my family is the most challenging part that I've encountered Thinking more productivity savings is also a challenge considering that the operation is already lean and fully automated Creating opportunities or cheaper alternatives to basic operation was also a challenge
