    Amazing learning opportunity but no work-life balance.
    The good thingsCareer development. As an auditor, you can have multiple engagements in various industries, hence, a good opportunity to widen your skills and understanding.
    The challengesIf you value work-life balance, this is not for you. There will be months when you are mandatory to work overtime but once your engagement is done, you can rest for at least 2 weeks to 1 month.

You join the firm for the experience that you'll never gonna get as entry-level or senior-level from other companies

    The challengesthe high opportunity also comes with the drawbacks of time management, mental health, work life balance, and financial independency. This will require you to grow quite fast to keep up with the market demands.

    The good thingsYou'll be working with like-minded individuals who strives for service excellence. You'll learn how to be purpose-driven and how to future-proof your career, i.e., continuous learning and development. You will be exposed on experiences that you'll need for your chosen career path.
    The challengesWorkload will eventually burn you out. The more experience you have, the more engagements you get assigned into. Your responsibilities are usually a step higher than your role. Compensation does not balance well with the level of stress and anxiety.

    The good thingstrainings are very well handled. this is a great company for a first job of any CPA or accounting graduate.
    The challengeslong hours and heavy workload. you will really have to know project and time management to succeed in this company. good training nontheless. despite long hours i recommend to work here even for a minimum of 3 years

    The good thingsIntense training, building skills and experience, horizontal learning in various services and various industries, opportunities to mentor others, strong coaching culture, builds integrity and good work ethics
    The challengesVery low salary and bonus scheme, working overtime in evenings and during weekends, expected to be on-call even if you are on official approved vacation leave. For some departments - they cannot go home even if they've finished for the day as long as their managers are still in the office and also some bosses don't allow them to charge overtime even if they did work a lot of overtime hours.

    The challengesThe challenge I may consider is the presence of holidays and the manacle of Government proclaimed work suspensions that fetter one's momentum.

    The good thingsExcellent training ground for freshly accountancy graduate and CPA board passer to learn more about audit, financial compliance and reporting. You will also be exposed to different clients belong to a variety of industry so you will have a well-rounded experience as a professional in your field. Seniors and Managers are open to communication and teaching.
    The challengesLow salary (during my tenure). During busy season, expect heavy work load that would require work hours until past midnight.

    The challengesSalary is fair enough but It's up to you how you handle and spend money since in audit you are investing in experience, not money.

    The challengesBelow industry average compensation and you're required to work 16-20hrs Monday-Sunday. Shortest working hour is 12hrs during the not-so-busy season (there is no such thing as slack season).

    Great Opportunities to Grow as a Professional at the Expense of Work-Life Balance
    The good thingsThe Firm values professional growth and provides regular trainings and seminars. I was able to work with a myriad of different personalities, may it be teammates, members of our cluster or market group, or clients, helping me hone my team management, interpersonal skills and patience. I would have to say the best thing about SGV is their people.
    The challengesThe workload demands a lot of overtime, mainly during busy season, giving us minimal time to ourselves, sometimes sacrificing our physical and mental health to meet deadlines.

    Best way to start a career as CPA
    The good things- best avenue to sharpen your skill as a CPA if you plan to pursue a career in finance/accounting or audit in the future - if you last more than 3 years, it opens you to more opportunities here and abroad through their EY affiliation through your exposure to Global Delivery Services specifically in auditing Funds Portfolios, Asset Management and Investment companies - best for professional growth of CPAs - develops your work ethic - the nature of the work teaches you to be more resourceful, self-driven, and resilient.
    The challenges- long working hours (more or less 14 hours during busy seasons). You are encouraged, often required to work late nights, and weekends, and pull all-nighters especially during busy seasons which last 3 to 5 months - your seniors and managers will always expect and challenge you to do more than meeting deadlines - very stressful, there's constant pressure, burning out due to overwork is very common - not for the brittle spirit, requires you to go way out of your comfort zone

    The good thingsSGV offers its people a wide array of clients to work with, ensuring that its professionals are experienced and knowledgeable in the different industries from SMEs to big players. The teams and clusters as well as the overall company feel is family-like, especially if you are lucky with the cluster. Seniors, managers, and even the partners are willing mentors to staffs, particularly in the Consulting Practice.
    The challengesSGV offers low salary and benefits as compared to private companies. More than half of the salary is spent on rent, transportation and food and employees has little to nothing for savings. Some clusters also have a toxic environment and employs a highly bureaucratic and hierarchical system. Some executives and employees are also out of touch of the plight of the poorer staffs.
