Good but intenseThe good thingsA very good foundation for entry level applicants as you will learn how to go around your work with minimum supervision. The Japanese top management are all very courteous and easy to talk with. All overtime work are paid. Free lodging and transport service when you are working on site. Free beverages in the pantry. Very nice co-workers although the turnover is high so most of the people I worked with already left also.
The challengesThe Department I was in is shaky; no proper structure, I just could not see any area for career development (although much space for character development) Employee evaluation is only done once a year on January, and usually has results by May. Most of the department are understaffed, so almost everyone do overtime work all the time. Be prepared to do jobs that are nor yours. High turnover rate which makes it difficult at times to properly work because people keep on leaving. Pretty stressful and super long working hours (I experienced working straight 36 hours here).
