Not inclusive, community-driven development work isn't practiced
The good thingsSubstantial pay, good opportunity to network and collaborate with partner beneficiaries. Manageable work load and deliverables
The challengesWork is too focused on outputs rather than real impacts to beneficiaries. The organization is more focused on increasing KPIs or numbers for future grants and partnerships. Impacts are rarely assessed and evaluated with important stakeholders. The management should be aware and directed to focusing on long-term impact and building strong relations with key beneficiaries

I recommend SCP for development work
The good thingsWorking with SCP gives me a purpose, Work from home is practiced, Output oriented
The challengesMost positions are fixed term and project based. So if you'e looking for security of tenure, this might not be the best place to work.

    It was great!
The good thingsI enjoyed sharing my knowledge on the importance of water and sanitation hygiene to the children and my fellow youths.
The challengesThe challenging part was the delayed provision of food and fare allowances. I had to borrow money from my parents just to continue my work as a youth volunteer.

    GOOD COMPANY
The good thingsThey handled us well. They gave us the things and seminar that we need to improve our skills and personality.. They provided us everything that every employee needs. not just financial but also moral. They treated us like their own family.
The challengesEvery company has it's own side of weak-list. But Save the Children is able to make improvements on all things. So, we, the employees were complacent that the company will always be positive every time we meet anything that would cause us bad.

Technical Officer that provides technical guidance and coaching to partner NGO and conduct field monitoring to ensure program quality based on the quality benchmark.
The good thingsWorking in a diverse environment that promote a child centered community that allow children's participation in the whole process of the program cycle. These enable the fulfillment of children's rights. And advocate for lasting change and how community will be resilient to impact of risks and emergencies.
The challengesI never have encountered challenges since working with any company would give you opportunities for career growth and any eventuality are part of working.

The good thingsI enjoyed the travel opportunities plus work/life balance as I have never experienced this in my previous jobs but I guess it also depends on where you are based. Save the Children also provided me trainings which helped me grow more personally and professionally.
The challengesOne of the challenges is the location of the project since we're predominantly based in areas prone to disasters and armed conflicts. Another challenge was the quick transition of staff as it took time to get a replacement. Immediate availability of staff is a must.
