The good thingsHaving more than 20 years work experience in the field of office management, I was able to grow myself from the ground up to management level while still being hands on with work. I am the type of employee who does work as required regardless of task as long as required and needs to be done I will do them on my own.
The challengesEveryday is another day and each single day is unique so whatever challenges that comes by way are welcome.

The Challenges of a Recruitment Officer
The good thingsThe management of Sandstone (especially the Director of HR) was pretty good at motivating employees and encouraging them to succeed. The company boasts of a good work-life balance which is evident in its flexi-time scheme and relaxed atmosphere.
The challengesRecruitment is not an easy task in any company. You have to go through hundreds of people before getting the right one. It was probably the most difficult recruiting job I ever had because of the specificity of the candidates required. Although, support was given by management, I inevitably resigned due to my lack luster performance.

    Sandstone as an employer
The good thingsI enjoyed working with my boss and with my team. I enjoyed learning new things (domain through daily interactions, technical skills through research / enabling myself) I enjoyed enabling my staff. I enjoyed the opportunity to work directly with the clients.
The challengesThe owners have double standards - clear separation/close to racial discrimination between Australians and Filipinos. To think the owners are not born in Australia. Because this is privately owned, it always boils down to penny pinching for costs spent in the Manila site. They always wanted for us to be open and direct yet will most likely view you as a bad employee for speaking your mind.

Why Work at Sandstone Technology Philippines
The good thingsWorking in this company especially for fresh graduate would be a good start since they have intensive internal training that will further enhance your technical skills. Another good thing in this company is the warmth environment, colleagues are nice and there is a great possibility resources are assign ongshore.
The challengesA few challenges working in this company is that the process are document intensive which greatly affects development (for developers) and testing (for testers) velocity.

    Nice company to be with
The good thingsI like their perks and the semi flexi time schedule, and of course the offset hours when doing OT.
The challengesSome of the counterparts were difficult to deal with.
