Good start for a fresh grad or newbie like meThe good thingsExperienced a lot from here , compared to the first one . From bed side nursing ( IV insertion , Blood transfusion , Suctioning , Enema , removing foley catheter and nasogatric tube , feeding thru NGT , operating infusion pump..etc ) up to carrying doctors orders from residents to consultants thru Chart or telephone orders. Interacting to different/ other health care workers like pharmacists , med tech , rad tech , pulmo , PT , nutritionist etc. working with engineers , dietary , janitors, admitting staff ,Philhealth and social service staff . especially I learned to communicate well . This institution shaped my interpersonal skills and leadership . Btw , I'm a senior staff here already . I helped or teach my juniors , I was the one who managed the unit/ station when the head nurse aren't around or duty . From checking the missing drugs in e-cart or equipment in the unit , monitoring daily census and the patients of my juniors , posting charges and updating the board and special endorsements . It was a good starting for me , I can say . All the staff here are nice from doctors to nurses and other allied workers except admitting staff . kidding .
The challengesBrain drain . Few senior / experienced nurses .
