    Choose You Battle / Task
The good thingsIn Macquarie, we can choose our own battles. If a task to too great or the situation does not allow it, it is okay to say no. However, if everyone needs to help and move to the same direction; ample support is given to us be it training or encouragement so that we are ready to take on the heavy lifting.
The challengesIt would be challenging to work in Macquarie if you are not open to change.

Good company with great culture, plus excellent benefits.
The good thingsThe culture, the accountability and integrity of the company and it's people are outstanding. Flexible working environment, depending on your role and arrangement with manager. Good compensation and bonus. Community is also warm and very accepting, regardless of your ethnicity, gender preference, etc. It also enables you to grow and build yourself, by giving you the right materials and environment to work on.
The challengesHigh expectations from employee. It is part of the culture where everyone delivers and if you're not up for the challenge, you might get stressed out. (Though a lot will help you achieve it within the team/group, it will depend on how you react to your situation.) Since it is also a bank, running support (or any other operation) is high stakes and can be also a source of stress if you are not comfortable with it. There are stricter regulations when working for a financial institution. Example is for stock trading, there is a declaration & hold period. It depends if you are active on the market in your personal time, however, if not, then it won't be a problem/challenge. Lastly, like other international companies these days, they run resizing quite regularly.

Flexible working arrangement with a management that fully understand your priorities
The good thingsPerformance Review - The managers are not obliged to give a low rating to atleast one individual. Your rating is what you deserve. Flexible working arrangement - The company has a variety of flexible working arrangements to choose from (examples are, but not limited to: fixed working from home arrangements, choosing your working days) but of course, subject for approval and you always have to relay it to your manager. Performance bonus - really good. :) Mobility - depends on the role and team. My team has a very limited on shore counterparts, and very low opportunities, but some others are very blessed on this part
The challengesNo to little documentations for work :( Processes not yet very organized as of the moment.

    Great work-life balance!
The good thingsBeen working here for four years already. I would say a great company for parents. Senior management offshore and onshore are very understanding when it comes to family emergencies and obligations. A good company to hone your leadership, project managment and technical skills. Lots of opportunities to take on. Very good HMO coverage including dependents, perks, benefits and salary package above industry standards. Best of both worlds! A lot of time with my family and great compensation!
The challengesBefore it was the dress code but now they've removed it! Fast paced and action packed everyday! You will learn to prioritize tasks as tasks will be coming in from every direction. Prepare to face challenges head on and learn everything along the way.

Good but inflexible and very flat
The good thingsGreat compensation and benefits. Great company to work for if you don't mind doing tasks that can be replaced by robots/computers for the rest of your life.
The challengesManagement is inconsistent. Some teams are managed great but some very poorly. High attrition rate in some teams in HR because they don't listen to the needs of their employees.

The good thingsSalary is good. The location of the office is good as well as the facilities.
The challengesThe politics of some Filpino bosses are not good. There is over delegation and some bosses take credit of other people's work. They also take more time to PR with the expats rather than concentrate on the work of the operations themselves.

    The Macq Life
The good thingsMacquarie is a great place to work for. The culture is diverse, office location and amenities are top grade, the perks and benefits outstanding, and work is positively challenging. This is a company that develops and support its employees career goals. The work environment is competitive and the job rewarding. Its people are among the best in the industry.
The challengesMacquarie is very dynamic and change is always present. The company growth in the Philippines has been exponential, it is about time to consider getting its own building. Infrastructure expansion is its great challenge.
