Starting my journey as a Certified Public Accountant in Maceda Valencia & Company was one of the best decisions I have made in life.The good thingsFor a fresh grad and board passer who's quite unsure of the immense future ahead, I can say that starting my journey here in Maceda Valencia & Co. as a Junior Auditor opened opportunities that I never knew existed. I learned a great deal of skills that would fully equip me as I venture through the corporate world. I've encountered different industries--from manufacturing, advertising, construction, pharmaceutical, among others--that really expanded my knowledge regarding the different industries and the applicable accounting standards for each.
The challengesAdjusting to a fast-paced environment was tough at first, especially during the first busy season that I've experienced. It took time for me and the other new hires to get the hang of things, but under the supervision of our seniors and managers, we were able to perform our work efficiently and effectively. It was also hard dealing with different clients who were also working under pressure as deadlines arrive. But with the right attitude and patience, I was able to form lasting bonds built on trust and accountability.
