Overall, this organization is good working environment.
The good thingsColleagues are all good and friendly specially those who are in lower level positions. Most of all, it's tax free, no deductions whatsoever.
The challengesIn my experience, communicating with foreigners whose English is not clear. You have to adjust of what they say and what they meant.

    Very satisfying
The good thingsI find good things in the the service that I have contributed. Albeit, it is a simple role but each day I perform my job, I think I can say that, I can consider my function as one of the gears in the organization that makes there cycle rolling all over the world.
The challengesNot more of not enjoying, but a typical encounter to other human conditions or the way others treat you. It affects my concentration of work sometimes, but it is quite helpful because will learn how to review your personality and vice versa.

My job gives me an opportunity to help in my own small special way by finishing every assigned tasked by our organization and it expose me to various multi-national colleagues.
The challengesOur job in IOM requires highly skilled and very dedicated person that have passion and cares for people. A team player that focuses on what it do to make things happen for its beneficiaries.

    Great Opportunities in Big Organizations
The good thingsThe good thing about working in a big muti-national organization is the opportunity to interact with different nationalities and their ability to communicate and cooperate with different cultures - personally and professionally. Given the opportunity, I would like to work again at International Organization for Migration and I would like to try to working with the other and different departments.
The challengesThe big challenge in working with multi-national organization is the ability to understand one's culture from a different nationality. But because of my previous, long experience working with different races, it gave me the advantage to easily adapt to the working environment, work style and relational and professional coordination with the people in the company.

    Working at IOM
The good thingsWorking here in IOM is a breeze. You can even spend your entire career here if you want to. You can even rotate to other careers from within the organization if you want to and if you're qualified. Salary is standardized based on UN salary scale. Additional allowances are given for each of your dependants. Medical health and pension plan are also provide. Salary is tax-free.
The challengesIf you're skill set is limited, you may tend to get dead-end stucked in your position, feel bored and seek new challenges elsewhere. Similar with other UN organizations, IOM also prefers hiring from within and in order to get a promotion or escalate your career within the organization you need to apply to open posts and get them.
