An old institution stuck in its old ways.
The good thingsWorking with the young people there was a joy. However, they were not listened to by the older generation.
The challengesToxic work culture and the older generation there is not open to the suggestions of young people. The organization is stuck in the 70s and 80s.

    Highly Competitive and Challenging Work
The good things- The bosses are sincerely passionate about their job and highly qualified to lead their teams. - I also like that we can voice our ideas in the implementation of projects. - The administration department and finance work fast and are very facilitative. They do not bend the rule, but they try to accommodate and support the technical staff to the best of their abilities. - The tasks are very challenging and there is always something new to learn. - Teamwork is solid.
The challenges- It is a government agency and it adheres to the same policies governing all public sector organizations in the Philippines. As such, there is no plantilla (permanent) position. However, the Academy promotes qualified employees to co-terminus position, which has the same benefits as permanent employees. - No pantry.

You learn all you need to learn from a training institution.
The good thingsI learned a lot from the administrative side of managing a project to conducting training facilitation for clients.
The challengesThe salary rate is not commensurate to the tasks being performed. Psychological aspect of the work environment is not properly managed.

    A wide, breadth, learning experience
The good thingsThe exposure within various government agencies and how they work since the corporation's mandate is to build capacities of government leaders, and agency members towards national productivity.
The challengesThe challenges working in the company is that most employees are overloaded with work. Frequent overtime and extra work days due to heavy volume of work vis-a-vis number of staff.

The good thingsEmployer is generous to give opportunities to new employees. Always thinks of new ideas to better shape the Academy. Improves on previous ideas. Fast to respond to their clients.
The challengesThere are instances that the employer may not act upon a query quickly.

    DAP IN A NUTSHELL
The good thingsThe Academy gives its employees annual perks for Service Charges earned. The physical office has been refurbished and adds conduciveness to working conditions. Its location is also accessible to public transport.
The challengesThe Academy has been around for 42 years but manuals of processes and operations are not yet available. Also, it is frustrating that people there get hired and promoted not based on merits but based on how close you are with management. Major nepotism at its finest. There is also no clear professional path because the management only sees its people stay for a maximum of 5 years.
