Its great to work here, as an Engineer you will learn alot of things technically especially in policies and programs of the government towards energy sufficiency, stability, and resiliency.
The good thingsMany pieces of training for career development. People are amazing, the management is very supportive of the staff. Career development-wise, it's great to build your career here, especially those who are fresh engineering graduates and board passers.
The challengesNothing much, you yourself is the challenge working here.

The good thingsAs an intern, working with such a institution was a great experience. I learned many things from the professionals, technical knowledge and skills. They exposed us in engineering field works such as geological survey, technical audit, site visit and etc..
The challengesHow to adjust with the new environment specially I'm an intern. But eventually I managed to deal with it and be part of the team.

The good thingsThe Department of Energy give me the opportunity to work with the professionals in the field of petroleum and geology! I learn so many things regarding the service contract that our government holds and the opportunities that they continuously pursuing for the search of the potential oil and gas in our land.
The challengesThey should always keep their information up-to-date.

Continuous learning, great work place and broad opportunities.
The good thingsI enjoy traveling to different places when we are conducting inspection. Continuous learning of new technologies used to efficiently maximize oil production and reduce the risk of accidents in an oil facility are also obtained. Furthermore, I also develop my communication skills because we constantly collaborate with our stakeholders in making standards for the Oil Industries Facilities.
The challengesI do not have any challenges working for this company except for the hectic schedule we are handling specially when we are formulating standards for the Oil Industries Facilities.

The Best Job One Can Ever Have
The good thingsThere's definitely Work-Life Balance! Being in the government, the work demand as well as the level of stress is not that much compared to working in the private sector. The pay and compensation is also very competitive. There's also a lot of variety in work, not the usual monotonous, same thing that you do every day. Sometimes you're in the office; sometimes you go out in the field for inspections of energy projects; sometimes you attend official functions in hotels; if you're fortunate, you also get chances to be sent on official duty to travel to other countries for training. The best job one can ever dream of!
The challengesThe variety of work. You don't do the same thing always as sometimes you're doing office work; sometimes you're sent to the field to conduct site visits and inspections; sometimes you get to attend training(s) and/or official functions outside the office, like hotels. If you're fortunate, you can even be sent to other countries on official duty for training(s).

    Energy to watch
The good thingsThe management looks after the welfare of their employees. Training was substantially available. There are monetary and non monetary benefits that sometimes are not taxable.
The challengesDirection is not sustainable due to changes in management every change in administration. Funding of projects are hard to come by.
