Working in the local government has been a purposeful and fulfilling journey, filled with challenges that taught me resilience and moments that reminded me why serving others truly matters. The good thingsWhat I like most about working in this local government unit is the sense of purpose it gives me. Knowing that the work I do actually helps people in the community—whether it's through employment programs, certifications, or simply assisting them with their concerns—makes it really fulfilling. I also appreciate the teamwork and support from my colleagues. It feels good to be part of a group that shares the same goal of serving others. Even during busy days, it’s motivating to know that what we do matters.
The challengesOne of the biggest challenges in working in the LGU is dealing with limited resources—whether it’s manpower, budget, or time. There are days when the workload is really overwhelming, especially when there are back-to-back programs or urgent requests from the public. Sometimes, despite your best efforts, people don’t always see the hard work behind the scenes, and that can be disheartening. But I’ve learned to stay focused on the bigger picture—that at the end of the day, it’s about helping others. Those small ‘thank yous’ from clients, or seeing someone get a job because of your help, really make it worth it. It’s not always easy, but it’s meaningful.
