    Great colleagues, terrible management
The good thingsWork is less stressful due to the fact that I've had great colleagues. Our fellow staff were also supportive and provided useful assistance during difficult times.
The challengesUnfortunately, the management keeps some information from its employees. It's really a total bummer to keep your employees in the dark (e.g. important information was not communicated to its employees etc.) In addition, career advancement in this company is pretty terrible. You may work for years and no increase in rank may occur. Don't get me started with the salary. Yes, at first, their salary looks promising. However, if you are informed about the salary increase per rank, you will be surprised at how little increase it is. This company has a lot of potentials, but sadly, it does not hold up.

I love this institution but the admin and middle management and some toxic co-teachers gives a lot of burden in my work.
The good thingsThe CEU community is great, warm and kind students.
The challengesToxic workplace in my department, senior faculty only think among themselves.

    good training ground
The good thingsI particularly worked in a non-teaching department and we focus on something that requires skills. I can say that the employees included in the school were truly respectable, I've learned a lot. Also, they offer free Graduate programs for regular employees. And, aside from the salary raise (which you can gain annually or thru your length and contribution in serving the institution), they also have mid year bonus along with other bonuses.
The challengesAlthough OT Pay is applicable even for the employees under their probational period the workloads aren't that bearable. Making the salary appear low.

    Wonderful Colleagues
The good thingsI had great set of colleagues in my department. I also have good working relationship with people from other departments as well.
The challengesThe workload is really overwhelming. What is disappointing, is that you are not well-compensated for it. I guess the management isn't really people-oriented.

I have a great time working as a professor of CEU
The good thingsThe administration and the employees are very professional. The relationship is harmonious and the students are wonderful. They have an organized procedures and the system is good. They care for their employees and students. The facilities are good. The students, camaraderie among the employees and the administration support, facilities and everything about the workplace are remarkable. The quality of education is superb.
The challengesI have not experienced being unhappy because the system is in place. There is proper procedure in all aspects of the different areas of the university, be it in the services, instruction and facilities. They take care of every individual under their office, The front liners see to it that everyone who enter the university is satisfied with their services.

    Non competitive payscale
The good thingsThe best about CEU is the friendly and relax environment. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Work politics is not an issue in this company. Managers treat staff equally and give opportunities to show their skills.
The challengesThe salary here is very low compared to other school or companies. They try hard to implement management tools but they end up executing it poorly. They have this set of policy and procedures that they don't follow. They have this great vision but don't want to spend a dime to reach those goals.

Centro Escolar University gave me an opportunity to enhance and develop my skills pedagogically.
The good thingsThe teachers worked with harmony, some of them helped the younger ones to develop their skills in such a way that we were able to execute our expertise to help the students of Centro Escolar University. The higher ups are easy to talk to when I was experiencing difficulties.
The challengesIn my case, though Mathematics is a subject that I'm in line, I was challenge to teach General Physics which measured my capability and versatility as a teacher. It was tough at first but through the guidance of my fellow teachers, I did it properly.

    Too much politics
The good thingsStudents (assistants) are happy to work with.
The challengesIf you can't stomach office politics, then this is not the place for you. Palakasan system. Great talent driven out, mediocre performance rewarded.

    Experiences and Learnings
The good thingsLearned much on professionalism, organization and policy. Most of the employees are friendly and accommodating, have strong sense of camaraderie. There's a good environment to practice your skills and knowledge.
The challengesStressful environment, especially during accreditations Tedious paperworks (both for faculty and staff) Administration is really not open to give competitive salary, and limited opportunities for career growth. There is lack of proper coordination in some offices (in terms of documents).

I think it is excellent with regards to sciences but it lacks excellence in other fields.
The good thingsI enjoyed in teaching and sharing the knowledge of philosophy to students and it made me feel that I am motivated to help them to think for themselves. What I liked here is that most of its people are accommodating and friendly.
The challengesThe culture lacks intellectual curiosity here. One more thing is that it only fosters excellence in education rather than its improvement in critical reflection and also the humanistic aspect of education which for me is necessary for the improvement of this school.

    Great working environment.
The good thingsWorking environment is great. Co-faculties and some second-level managers are there to help you. Second-level managers are easy to talk to and listen to your concerns.
The challengesAlthough the working environment is great. The management should start to adopt paper-less environment. Filling-up multiple copies of documents every semester and using pen and ink class records is very tedious. Part-timers should be included in faculty development training / seminars.

The school made me a good teacher.
The good thingsI experienced teaching some foreigners and this made me more confident inside the calssroom. I discovered alot of things not only on my subject matter but also the students who shared their knowledge in this subject.
The challengesTeaching to foreigners and handled a large class. Paper works must be submitted on time. Teaching to students, who are not proficient to my subject, must take it patiently. Being a chairman in a quiz bee sometimes rattled me.
