To say that it is fascinating is an understatement, the experience was enough to mould me as I advanced into my career. The good thingsI was fortune enough to have experienced firsthand the different sides of the Bureau and interact within the organization. My duties were diversed and ever changing but it definitely given me a better understanding of my skill set and where my career may take me. It has taught me how to look at things at a bigger picture, from customs administrative orders just being simple orders to who and what affects its implementation and got the chance to participate helping in its construction. Also, it has given me the opportunity to become familiar with a wide range of scenarios that I might come across along the way as I make my way through my chosen field. Overall I can say that my experience as an intern made me confident in my abilities.
The challengesTime or more like the lack of it. I was under the impression that I would be working three days a week from 8:00 to 5:00, so that I have time for my classes and other commitments that I had being the Vice President of an organization. And my boss asked me if I can work longer hours so I worked from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm instead.
