Good remote work but policies have become really toxic lately.
The good thingsWhen Bizmates started in 2012, it was very promising.
The challengesThe penalties for which we had no control of, specially students who have bad internet connections but is blamed on the teacher.

Salary Downgrade by as much as 20pesos per hour
The good thingsThe working hours are really flexible open and close slots as you wish.
The challengesSince you are working with them as in independent contractor, your salary can be downgraded by as much as Php20/hour. The basis for the downgrade is the KPI (key performance indicator) which is greatly affected by low even just a single student's low evaluation (eg 3-3-3). Other indicators include opening during peak times, which is from 4.30-7am and 8-11.30pm. I may have missed the peak times by 30 minutes but it is around that time.

I had a wonderful experience working here in bizmates
The good thingsFlexible time schedule, you own your time,
The challengesYou have to be cautious enough on possible power outages and internet issues so that you won't get suspended.

    Disappointing and Pretentious
The good thingsThe teaching materials are good and useful.
The challengesCompleting the HR requirements is tedious especially BIR requirements for self-employed. It took me two months to complete it. After that, I was still declared incomplete because I need to send its printed copies to their Makati Office. It seems though they do not want to release the payment given their never-ending requirements. Honestly, I could have not pursued my application if I only knew their rigid HR requirements.

Awful. You need to book for everything and for the demo lesson, if you cannot book within 3 days after passing the interview, then they will discontinue your application and start from zero again. Here is the catch, only a few slots are open and they will say that you need to send an email. Well, i did send only 3 emails but i never got even 1 reply from them. It just shows that this is a start up conpany and i guess they need to upgrade their system. How can they accept applicants and not have enough slots for a demo lesson.
The good thingsI liked the person who interviewed me.
The challengesNot enough slots for demo lesson

    Still an amazing experience
The good thingsI was able to meet a lot of awesome Japanese professionals and I was able to help them with their concerns with their English Language knowledge, communication skills, Diversity, Personality and Leadership skills.
The challengesThere are no benefits, so if you want to be able to learn a stable amount of income, you will need to work 6 days a week. The fees can go up and down like a seesaw.

The challengesYou have to get used to receiving no benefits, but it’s fine with me.

    Great company with great students!
The good thingsWorking with executives and professionals is a great experience. Students are somewhat 50% already there in terms of English proficiency. So it's not that hard teaching there. Pay always comes one day earlier! :) Excellent support staff too. Always there to assist you when you need them.
The challengesThis not really something that I didn't like, because I loved everything with this company. The challenge I think is working from 5 to 12 midnight. Then 4 am to 9 am. If you really want to teach a lot of students, then you'll have to work til midnight and early in the morning as well. You can always sleep after breakfast anyway. :)

    acceptable
The good thingssalary is higher compared to some ESL companies. materials are already prepared for the trainer, you just need to familiarize yourself with it. The support team is very active and is always ready for any concern
The challengesstrict rules, limited working hours, when someone gives you a low score which is bound to happen at some point, you will more likely be sanctioned for it regardless of the reason.

All people there are nice even Mr. Hika Ito, our president.
The good thingsEveryone there is very supportive and friendly. They'll make sure you feel cared and relaxed during your stay in the company. Our president, Mr. Hika Ito, was also very cheerful and radiates such a positive spirit every time. He encourages us to succeed not just because we want to get a higher salary but also simply because he wants us to feel accomplished. I've never heard him say negative about a teacher, instead, try to always sound positive even when giving a critic. Kudos to you sir!
The challengesNone actually. But the reason why I left is that I needed a job that has an afternoon session too.
