For the general physicianThe good thingsThe salary for moonlighting general practitioners is competitive. From 1,600-1800/ day. I was an on-call physician so I can choose time and place for APE/PEME/Consultation. Their PE forms are comprehensive. Their mobile team of nurses are efficient. Their mobile cubicles, facilities are clean and always complete.
The challengesSince I was on-call, I needed to claim my check every cut-off. It was a hassle going to their office and having to encash the checks at a specific BDO branch. You will see an average of 40-45 patients every duty. APE/PEME is a no-brainer-slash-routine type of work so if you are not used to this, 40-45 patients can get boring. There are also days (even weeks) without calls which means, no work.
