Okay for starters but not for long term
The good thingsSemi flexible timein and timeout. Japanese Training and perks every passed JLPT. Good accomodation when assigned onsite.
The challengesLow salary. Salary increase lowers the longer you stay with them. Toxic team and environment. Going home early is looked down especially when assigned onsite. Stagnant growth, wants improvement from employees but little to no training. No work life balance.

Good for beginners, but not for experienced.
The good thingsMaybe it's good for starters who wants to learn Nihongo. Provides training and recreational activities.
The challengesAlmost everyday, you need to render overtime. If you took a sick leave, you need to recover those days you missed. No work-life balance. Stagnant growth. Promises not granted. Low salary, little to no salary increase. Hard to achieve your goals.

    Compensation and Experience
The good thingsFor fresh grads and career shifters, the company provides training for Nihongo and different fields. People are also friendly and approachable and the company encourages outside of work activities
The challengesCompensation is relatively low for the field compared to other companies. There is also a tendency for employees to be overworked especially when client specifications get changed drastically with little adjustment to deadlines.

A Japanese Company that favors language proficiency more than actual technical skills
The good thingsYou will be given training for various programming languages and Japanese. Provides good accommodation for onsite.
The challengesPerformance incentives are more or less leveled between departments, which discourages high performing individuals to actually excel. Even if you are highly capable developer, if you lack the proficiency in Japanese, don't expect to climb up the corporate ladder. Trainings are very sparse and few.

    Regrettable experience overall
The good thingsI was lucky to be assigned in Japan for 3 months They have Japanese Lessons, you get medicard coverage and a fair but low salary.
The challengesA lot of mismatch values and principles within the organization. Salary could be better, the office could be maintained better. Resignation was a pain as there was a lot of threats, compliance with the labor codes could be better During covid19 crisis, some employees were still asked to report to the office, some are requested to work from home but instructions how to was unclear, proper business continuity planning, and disaster risk management could be better.

Limited Growth, Low Salary, But Great Culture
The good thingsPeople are friendly, there's closeness and camaraderie among the employees. Employee club activities provide work-life balance and employee interaction. The company also takes Nihongo training seriously. They provide free Japanese language training up to N1
The challengesTechnology training of ACTION is pretty much useless. You can't expect to learn, or sometimes even grasp, a technology with just 1-2 weeks of training. You also have no control of what your role will be. No matter how good or experienced you are at a specific technology, the project demand will determine what your work will be. Sometimes, even non-IT projects are given to employees. Some departments even have no projects for employees and they become idle for months at a time. The job ad for ACTION might mislead people to think that you will be a programmer in this company, but only a small fraction of employees here are actually programmers. Some team leads also have inadequate management skills. Promotion can be unfair.
