Software QA Analyst

We are seeking a Mid-Level QA Analyst with a strong technical foundation in Microsoft technologies and software quality assurance. This role will focus on testing, validating, and ensuring the quality, functionality, reliability, and performance of the company's in-house LMS/CMS platform and related internal systems.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience testing web applications and REST APIs, performing database validation using SQL, and developing or executing automated test scripts. The successful candidate should be detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of identifying software defects, collaborating with developers, and ensuring that applications meet business and technical requirements.

This is a full-time hybrid-remote role working Mondays to Fridays, 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM PH time. The office is located at Ortigas, Pasig.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a QA Analyst, you will:

• Plan, design, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts to ensure software quality and functionality.

• Perform functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for web applications and internal business systems.

• Test and validate REST APIs, including endpoints, request and response payloads, status codes, and data integrity.

• Perform database validation using SQL queries to verify data accuracy, consistency, and expected results in PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server.

• Identify, document, track, and report software defects, working closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.

• Conduct retesting and regression testing after bug fixes, system enhancements, and new feature deployments.

• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium or similar automation frameworks, preferably within a C#/.NET environment.

• Explore and utilize AI-assisted tools such as Claude to support test case generation, test scenario development, and testing activities where appropriate.

• Collaborate with developers, product managers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and expected application behavior.

• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

• Review technical and functional requirements to identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, and test coverage requirements.

• Maintain clear and comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution results, and defect reports.

• Support testing activities throughout the software development lifecycle, including pre-deployment validation and production issue investigation.

• Ensure applications meet established quality standards, security requirements, and business expectations.

• Provide timely testing updates, progress reports, and recommendations for improving software quality and testing processes.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

We are specifically looking for candidates with experience in the following:

Software Testing and Quality Assurance

• Web application testing

• Functional, integration, regression, and UAT testing

• REST API testing and validation

• Test case design, execution, and defect tracking

Database and Data Validation

• Basic to intermediate SQL queries

• PostgreSQL or Microsoft SQL Server

• Database verification and data integrity testing

Test Automation and Development Environment

• Test automation using Selenium or similar frameworks

• Familiarity with C#/.NET for test automation, scripting, or working within a Microsoft-based development environment

• Experience or exposure to AI-assisted testing tools such as Claude

Development Tools and Technologies

• Azure DevOps and Azure Repos

• MS SQL Server

• Azure Functions and Azure WebApps

• SVN (Subversion)

• AngularJS or similar web application frameworks

• Familiarity with applications developed using C#, Windows Forms, Windows Services, and related .NET technologies

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or a related QA role.

• Hands-on experience testing web applications and REST APIs.

• Comfortable writing basic SQL queries for database validation and troubleshooting.

• Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium or similar frameworks.

• Familiarity with C#/.NET development environments is highly preferred.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams.

• High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

• Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.

• Experience using AI-assisted tools such as Claude, Copilot, or similar platforms is an advantage.

• Financial services industry exposure or basic accounting knowledge is considered an asset.
